Ser Scot A Ellison Posted October 24, 2022 Share Posted October 24, 2022 It seems Russian SFF author Sergy Lukianenko appeared on an RT News broadcast and when the host suggested any Ukrainian children who disliked Russian occupation should be thrown into a fast moving river and drowned Lukianenko’s response was Rods (you know to beat them) were better. A few years back a Publisher was disinvited as a GOH because the publisher’s website didn’t do much moderation of extreme content. Interestingly, though, RT News has suspended the anchor who made the comments and confirmed it does not believe any children anywhere should be burned or drowned. Not to mention the fact that if China isn't going to change its COVID precautions, and it sounds like they are not, there is a reasonable chance the convention could be cancelled anyway.
