I originally posted my picks for most of the main characters over at my podcast site. I got a suggestion that I should bring my cast picks over here and post them so that they would be seen. So, I'm here to do just that. I'm going to make sure to send all the individual casting choices to the correct threads shortly, but first, I wanted to post my list in it's entirety. The complete list can be seen here. That's the best way to see it, as I have comparsion photos up.

I only used people on my list that is likely relatively low budget, and is at least slightly interested in television acting. So with that in mind:

Robert Baratheon - Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill) IMDB

I like your Dany, she looks vulnerable enough (who knows if the actress would do sex and nudity though) and Littlefinger.

You really can't pick actors in current non-ending successful series though. Unless you know their character is being killed off or written out of the show.

I also don't like typecasting Lena Headley as Catelyn, for one I think she is too old, for two she just played that part in 300.

Anna Sopheia Robb is a good actress, but she's also 15.... ;) Maybe she'd be a good Sansa (with a wig), assuming they cast Sansa older than 11 or 12.

I like the Mitchell as Ned pick. I've never seen him act, but he has the look.

And Saoirse is an inspired choice as Arya. She did a fantastic job in Atonement.

Ballis would be an awesome Littlefinger, but I think he's too old for the role now. And while we're talking BSG, I still think 6 is Cersi.

Anders has the attitude to be Jaime, but I'm not sure he has the look... They need to find a role for him though. I've been a fan of his since Alias. Even when he was on Heroes, my wife and I would refer to him as Sark.

The only person that I think would be too busy in this list to take on a new series would be Ali Larter, as she's heavily involved in Heroes. The two FNL stars will probably be jobless soon, judging by the current outlook on that series. Same for Lena Headley, if Terminator's ratings don't improve dramatically. The other 3 Heroes cast members either have minor roles or no roles at this point. Paul Johansson is iffy. He has a lot of production work on One Tree Hill, but his roles on the show are very small these days.

Lena Headley is a very good actress. Typecasting happens for a reason. If you are good for the role, you are good for the role. Plus, as I said, she'll be out of work soon, and that's a shame.

I am a pretty big Jericho fan, so I love Mitchell for the role of Ned. I think that he would be a solid choice. AnnaSophia is my ideal Daenerys, but it all rides on what direction they decide to take everything from the book. Obviously she wouldn't be able to do everything that the character needs to be completely accurate at 15. But I'm also not a big fan of taking an older actress just so those scenes can happen. If the actress is older but doesn't look it, then that would be fine. But taking someone that looks older solely for the purpose of nudity scenes and such isn't a great idea, IMO.

I can't see Heroes' Molly as Arya at all. She's way too precocious Hollywood tyke for me to take seriously as a child soldier. I like your Robb choice. AnnaSophia Robb would make a good Dany but I don't think there's any way the producers are casting an actual thirteen-year-old in the role.

Lena's pretty much my ideal Catelyn. Well, technically Kate Winslet is my ideal Catelyn but that's never going to happen, so I'll root for Ms Headey, assuming the Sarah Connor Chronicles don't last until next season.

Lena Headey's in her mid-thirties. Exactly the right age for the role, and looks old enough to have teenage children. It's not like she's played a huge number of Catelyn-like roles to be typecast in. 300 was the only one she's struck me as catelyn-esque.

...so she is... I figured she was in her 40s... must just be a worrier.

OP i mean no offense to you by this, but this series will be terrible if its full of prime-time teenie bopper show actors. Heroes? Lost? and the CW is a cesspool of horrendous acting. You should really watch some HBO series before you run the network or we might as well cast Zach Efron as Jon Snow.

sry just wanted to add as above poster mentioned, i agree your Robert is excellent however.

Be careful to distinguish between poor acting and poor writing. Nor can you necessarily blame an actor or actress for accepting a role on these shows (what new personality wouldn't want to be on primetime TV?). I mean, Johnny Depp started out on 21 Jump Street.

Bottom line: you never know. Could be some wheat among that chaff.
Didn't Terminator get picked up for another season? If so, she's not really on the table anyways.
No, it didn't. It got picked up for the remainder of this season. It was originally only scheduled for a half season.

Just because you don't like a show doesn't mean it doesn't have good actors/actresses. There is a lot of talent to be found in mainstream shows. I hope you can tell the difference between Lost and High School Musical, otherwise I don't think you have a lot of room to talk.
Too many Americans. Don't bother.
These are talented actors. I had no idea for the longest time that Jamie Bamber was British. They do adaptability of thing for a living.
. . . Dany looks way to young. . .
Did you even read the books? At the beginning of the book she has just recently had her first period, she barely has breasts because. . . why now? Thats right: SHE IS THIRTEEN YEARS OLD.

In what way is that girl too young? You can argue she is too young for the role in the TV series that they recently said was going to be slightly older (though didn't tell us to what extent) or too young to legally be allowed to play the part to it's full extent. But she is in no way too old for the part as written in the books.

I'm not even saying I like this girl for the part, she doesn't have the right regal look to her that I expect out of Dany, but c'mon people. Dany is not an adult. Period.

I think he's perfect!
Why didn´t I think of that. His role in BSG may be to much in peoples heads, though. But lookwise he is perfect.
He is pretty good in BSG. But does he have the hard edge to be Tywin? He is no pathetic drunk trying to hold it all together. Tywin is absolutely composed and calculating almost at all times.
A good shot at Tywin.

I second that, how could I miss it!

Yeah, most of the time he was a pathetic drunk trying to hold it together, but remmember on New Caprica when he was leader of the rebels...he sent men to do suicide bombing and killed his own wife, you cant get any colder than that. He was very convincing as the ruthless rebel leader imo.
Give him nice blond sidewhiskers and you got a pretty good Tywin id think.

Remember folks, Tywin isn't just a hardass, he is an egotistical and regal hardass. He couldn't even stand to be seen with thinning hair lest the appearance of it make him less impressive. Hogan is marvelously talented, but he is more of a used up, old and scrappy Nights Watchman than a king, and Tywin needs to look every inch a king. . . past his prime and bald, but still an impressive physical presence. Hogan is a decade or two past this, and never really had the looks for it. Basically he should be like whoever they cast as Jaime + 20 years. Someone more like Sean Bean or Bruce Willis with a few more years added on to them.

No amount of acting can make him 15 years younger and give him a more regal bone structure. I said nothing about his talent, my problem with him is entirely physical. Some people are overly optimistic about what 'movie magic' can do. Just because he is the first talented bald guy you thought of doesn't make him perfect for the role.
