This was not as hard as Catelyn. Tricia Herlfer by a landslide; not because she's a tall drink of hot water and plays in one of the most critically acclaimed science fiction shows ever, but because that chick can act - and can do mercurial emotional whiplash on a dime. If they could get her away from whatever she's currently doing, she'd be money in the bank: she has a built-in nerd fanbase and is really, [i]really[/i] good.

The rest are suitable. Monet Mazur is both good and, I think, gettable.

Hound: I only do top-five lists. It's my thing, man. The Joker has his cards. Two-Face has his coin. I have my top-fives. All of us are fictitious characters and none of us are really all that sane.

Man, these casting threads are a disaster. People throwing out names like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Scarlett Johannsen...what's the point? We all know they aren't doing a pilot for an obscure cable show.

Rebecca Romijn? She's a film star, and nothing in her experience makes me think she could pull off a complex character like Cersei. Jeri Ryan and Julie Benz? Benz already has a hit cable show and won't be leaving anytime soon. Plus she plays mousy and vulnerable, not some regal ice queen. Jeri Ryan, much like Tricia Helfer, couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.

Someone like Connie Nielsen is a pretty interesting choice, and there are definitely some others in this thread. But can we get rid of the movie stars and sci-fi rejects?

Blaspheme. Helfer has the chops. I too thought she was just like some bland robotic (har!) model stand-in when I first started watching Battlestar Galactica. But one view of the much-lauded second season ... The Cylon rape scene?

C'mon.

Tricia Helfer is balls-out awesome.
