Stannis's Lawyer
The North had a huge advantage over the other Kingdoms when it came to the Andals invading. In all the other kingdoms there was not the same unity as we are told that the rival Kings in the North banded together to stop Southern armies at Moat Cailin and that the Boltons and Starks made common cause against the Andals. It wasn't that the North was harder to conquer, but that the denizens' were more united against outsiders than their southern counterparts(probably due to dealing with the Wildlings to their North) and the obvious fact that the Southern lands were far more desirable to settle for the Andals from Essos. The Ironborn had some successful periods, taking the West Coast. The Starks already ruled 90% of the North by the time the Andals were defeated in Moat Cailin. Rival kings did not 'band together', there was really only one (major) king.

True the North had some advantages but the west was also united IIRC - The Lannisters won 3 battles before they realized that the Andals would keep on coming (Seems like the North was the only Kingdom which thought of putting up a no trespassing sign on its coast :) ) . And the Vale's first men also united under Robar Royce but lost. Yet even when Dorne was united it lost against Daeron - we know now that Daeron managed to beat the Dornish and get them to swear fealty. No one has managed to subjugate the Northmen on their own turf - even the Andals who had a technological advantage and invaded via sea thereby bypassing the North's main defence. And lastly its also clear that while the North had the advantage of being united it also had the disadvantage of facing multiple enemies on different fronts - The Andals to the east(who had steel), the IB to the west, The wildlings to the North and the Vale to the south - all were fought in 1 king's lifetime alone. Lointain
Dorne. The northerners are wussies compared with the dornishmen. The northerners surrendered without a fight. They didn't tried some kind of guerrilla warfare, they simply surrendered and joined the 7K has conquered vassals. The dornismen fighted always, never surrendering to the Targaryen forces, even when the Targaryens controled the settlements, they never controled the country, and were, ultimetely expelled from Dorne. Later they joined the 7K by means of a marriage, entering honourably in the 7K.
The Wolves
It's the North. The North has never been invaded and being a very big region it's pretty hard to invade.
voltron
Trying to take the North is suicide. The North is almost half of Westeros, the population are dispersed, and the more you go North, the harder it is to feed your army and keep their moral up. How long is needed to besiege and take Winterfell before Winter, before your whole Army starve to death and start to flee the battle. And if you want a successful invasion, you must take the Dreadfort, Karhold, White Harbor, all those Strongholds must be under your control, and all that before Winter is coming. No, only a fool like Balon would've tried this. The only way to take the North is by political alliance and loyalty. I would take my chances with Dorne. Even Stannis, a great battle commander know that he must gain the North by political strategy instead of fighting them all on their own territory. TheNinjaDC
Dorne is rather easy to invade. Its the "holding" that is the hard thing. North is hard to take in the summer. Winter is full on suicide (save white walkers). So I go with North.
Alaynsa Starne
I think invading armies in the North might be at more risk for disease. Greyscale thrives in the cold and the wet, and then there's greywater fever -- which I think comes from the water in the Neck. I dunno if this would make a huge difference, though.
