Igziabeher
I started noticing that he wrote the forewords to a couple non fiction books of mine(I wasn't reading any fiction at the time), so a friend let me borrow Still-life with Woodpecker and I was satisfied. I followed up by reading Jitterbug Perfume and am now working on Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates. Anyways, are there any comparable authors to him that anyone would recommend?I've read a couple of Chuck Klosterman's fiction(and most his nonfiction) books and they were simpler but enjoyable as well. And if anyone is well-versed in Robbins' books, which one should I read next?
Captain Sheepf*cker
Loved Still life with Woodpecker, liked Jitterbug Perfume, and Even Cowgirls get the Blues but I stopped there. Comparable? Hunter S. Thompson or Vonneget, maybe Chritsopher Moore - more humorous vs. literary but still good. Read Lamb by Moore - Awesome.
Baelor Swyft
He's a fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed Another Roadside Attraction, although I found Village Incognito a little stale.
Igziabeher
I actually picked up Villa Incognito while buying Jitterbug but I have no intention of reading it. Ill have to check out that Christopher Moore book, thanks for the suggestion.
honeyed chicken
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?Very different subject matter, but similar literary approach.Has anybody here read Richard Brautigan? I was always curious about him, but not enough to read.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Brautigan
Iskaral Pust
I read Fierce Invalids and was not impressed enough to try any others. Christopher Moore and Douglas Adams would be good recs to try. Colin Bateman could be well worth a try but his books are difficult to get in the US unless you have a Kindle or Nook.
