geogus Posted September 25, 2013 Share Posted September 25, 2013 While Eddard was locked in the dark cells Varys told him that young Rhaenys, Rhaegar´s daughter stabed by Amory Lorch, had a black kitten named Balerion and that he would like to know what happend to him.It came to me that the one-eyed back cat that Arya used to chase and that hitted Tomem several times is this black Kitten, Ballerion.The black cat is decribed as "older than sin", and considering 13 years have passed since the war of the usurper, its possible he is rhaenys black kitten.How could Varys not notice that??? :dunno:Is the cat envolved in some plot, maybe a secret Targaryen?Maybe he is the rightful royal pet, and sworn enemy of Ser Pounce? :fencing: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Any text proof or just crackpottery?I haven't investigated the theories myself, but I would think the reason to warg this particular cat would be to keep an eye on what's going on in KL and The Red Keep? Just an idea.I've always thought that the infamous black cat of the Red Keep, called the real King once by guards too I think, is Balerion. Humans and animals alike have a hard time reaching their full life span in the series, but the age of 13 or so still isn't an impossible age for the cat to reach.
