Victarion does seem to actually regret killing his wife,and he has a raw animal courage that is intriguing.3. Littlefinger is certainly "clever", as Lysa says.4. Gregor isn't quite as dumb as he seems, the way he punished Vargo was quite creative, and he knows how to make change.5. Joffrey was good with a crossbow.6. Cersei has good cheekbones.7. Varys isn't actually omniscent per GRRM -- there's a SSM where he reveals Varys had no idea about the Arianne-Viserys secret betrothal. (That made me hate him less as a character -- I don't actually mind him that much as a person, just that he seems a bit too good/lucky of a player to be a realistic character.)
