  1. I would if it was Ned, or one of the more honorable characters, we were talking about.
  2. More likely, Tywin is just being Tywin. By that I mean he's an evil bastard, who wants more money.
  3. Egg was probably a good king. Not going to lie, finding out that Tywin destroyed all of his reforms, just gave me another reason to hate him.
  4. Lucky that the Hand of the king is a kind person and is willing to risk his life to help him. Lucky, that his squire ends up being a prince and one with a lot of friends to help him. Lucky to randomly show up at a wedding, that ends up being a secret rebellion. Lucky that the guy he befriended at the wedding, is probably the new hand of the king, who's also trying to help him. So on and so on. Dunk, might not be very bright, but like Forest Gump, he's insanely lucky.
  5. Yes, but the word from Kings Landing makes no mention of Cersei's trial or the double murder. Also why would Cersei even send Harrys to the Iron Bank, to get a new loan, when it was her idea to oppose the Iron Bank in the first place. It's clear as day, the Mercy chapter, as we read it, takes place after the time skip, that never happened.
  6. For me Dunk is the Forest Gump of GRRM’s universe. A character who is a lot more bright and brave than he first appears. Also insanely lucky.
  7. In Vic's defense he does know how to sail and captain a ship. That's not something I can picture someone like Gregor doing.
  8. Good point. Though Stannis does mention wanting to remove Littlefinger from court, along with Varys. I think you're probably right though.
  9. I agree; when we hear about meeting his publishers in NYC, I get more excited, than him meeting his publishers in the UK.
  10. You bring up a good point about Stannis. How the heck did he discover that Joff and the other two kids weren't Robert's? The mans own daughter looks and acts almost nothing like him, aside from her jawline. I feel like there's a piece missing, from the Stannis puzzle, that GRRM hasn't given us yet.
  11. I often wonder if Ned would have just let the blonde haired thing slide, if Joff was a good person. His evidence was pretty weak; I've constantly seen kids that have different hair colors than their parents. Part of me wonders if the whole hair thing, was him finally coming up with some sort of evidence, to prove the Lannisters were traitors and get rid o them; weak as it might be.
  12. Yea, the KL info we get from that chapter doesn't makes sense. Plus Cersei was against paying loans to the Iron Bank. She wouldn't send Harrys Swyft to ask for a new loan, when she was the one who thought it was a smart move to not pay them in the first place.
  13. Let's be real, if GRRM said "he still has hundreds of pages to right", about a month ago and then went on vacation. He's probably nowhere close to releasing the book.
  14. Ned would have made such a great Lord Protector; at least until GRRM came up with ways for all his good actions to actually be bad ones. It is sort of his thing, lol
  15. Timeline still doesn't match up. Tyrion was 9 during Robert's Rebellion. So he would have to have been married during Robert's time as king.
  16. So I posted this on the Original Draft for AFFC's thread, but it works here as well. The timeline for Kevan's death feels a little sloppy to me. So Kevan travels back to the Rock, while at the Rock gets a letter asking him to take over as Regent, he accepts and travels back to Kings Landing, sets up his regency by making Mace Hand of the king, has Randyll Tarly save Margaery and does all this before visiting Cersei in her prison cell. So just how long was Cersei locked up for? Are the Rock and Kings Landing very close to each other?
  17. Alright, I can see the logic in that. The timeline in that makes sense.
  18. So the rangers were able to see the wildings, without the wildings able to see them? That's the logic GRRM is going with? Keep in mind, most of the watch are former criminals or raw boys, at this point.
  19. And when and how did Noye hear this? Most of the watch's rangers are on the Fist or dead, by the time Jon joins them. Jon's group never encounters any rangers, so the Watch must have invisible spies who are able to know that Jon went over to the other side, but never be seen.
  20. I was thinking a lot about Jon's arc in the third book and it's pretty insane how up to date the other members of the Night's Watch are, of Jon's actions. Jon's wilding group never encounter any scouts. Most of the watches strength is with Mormont. How are the handful of members of the Nights Watch left, able to keep track of Jon's actions, while manning the castles?
  21. Cersei killing Tyrion's guards is pretty petty as well, now that I think about it. The poor guys were knocked out. In that moment Cersei basically acted like a bond villain, "you failed me, now die", such stupid logic.
  22. Jamie was literally a different person at that point in the story. That's not even a joke, GRRM wrote the character as if he would be a villain, at that point in the story. He didn't change his mind about Jamie until either towards the end of the first book or the second one. You go back and read those opening chapters and the characters just feel kind of off, IMO. Something just feels strange about them.
  23. Killing Lady. First off I love dogs, second she knew full well Lady was not the pup that hurt her son, third she also knew that Sansa helped her cover for Joff's behavior, when confronting Robert. So simply because Robert is unwilling to chop off Arya's arm, for the "crime" of hitting Joff with a stick, when he pulled a sword on an innocent boy, Sansa has to lose Lady. Bang up job on Geroge's part, for making certain I would always hate Cersei.
