  1. i came across this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51043120-the-manufacturing-of-greta-thunberg i havent read it but i think maybe i should, i´ve been reading more and more about this ngos that supposodly are trying to "save" the world but are actually nothing more than greenwashing and maybe even worse than that. maybe it is cynical but if it is true its important to know this stuff cuz capitalist will do everything to maintaing power and control of the narrative. if it is true that the biggest "donors" of greta are the WEF and ngos like Population Matters then i think its reasonable to be skepticall of initatives like this that turn out to be nothing more than a lie.
  2. did they charge does kids with crimes? what crimes? doesnt israel have thousands of of kids and people in jail with out charge? without trial? the teenagers are kids too you know
  3. Ofc you dont understand the difference in framing and language, im not surprised at all, you do you. Israelis are women and children, palestinians are females and teenagers.
  4. The times of israel reports, exchange of israeli hostages as women and children for palestinian hostages "females and tennagers", fucking sigh
  5. yeah and israel probably fucked that up for generations, millions of kids growing with incredible trauma will for sure breed more "terrorists", but this is all within israel policies for decades (including financing hamas), reep what you sow and such. mayve stoping advocating for genocide (and doing it of course) is a good start. like you keep saying that palestinians whant to kill every jew, but israel is actually doing it, and been doing it, killing and displacing everyone.
  6. Yes, very bad goverments and intervention by the imf and world bank spells disaster, the crisis today is in part because macri took a loan with the imf that comes with some very predatory conditions.
  7. For sure is going to have an impact, specially the tactics wich they already tried when boric was elected, and tried and succeded with the first draft of our attempt to create a new constitution, their social media game is far above ours, specially because of money (of course) and as i already mention, becouse the seek the help of people like bannon, who is an expert on this kinds of tactics.
  8. Yes, i think i didnt say that bolsonaro and trump werent corrupt, they are and they where. And i know it doesnt work like that i was just trying to explain why they elected him, some of the reasons at least.
  9. Its the same reason people voted for trump and bolsonaro, an outsider who is not involved in corruption (yet). There is also much hate for the peronists/kirschnerism for decades of corruption. And the milei campaign has ties to Steve Bannon, same as boslonaro, they know how to use media to generate and create this "outsider" figures.
  10. Its a very sad day in latin america, like when bolsonaro won
  11. i do belive that ong activism, charity and all that where never going to work, that type of activism is to me capitalism with a human face, and very often counterproductive. to change the system you cant go half ways, and the enviromental crisis was always tied with systemic issues
  12. im piggybacking on this comment. im now reading a ver good book The Divide by Jason Hickle where he talks (among other things) about ngos and charity "activism" and how they proppose solutions that dont actually change the deeper systemic problems that we have to deal with, adn actually serve to make it look like they are trying to solve things when they are just whitewashing. and i read somewhere that fridays for future has some very shady backers, like very big oil commpanies and such, i havent researched it further tho.
  13. https://portside.org/2020-01-18/hindu-nationalists-are-transforming-india-israel-style-ethnostate ethnostates, such a good idea, never a bad thing resulted from an ethnostate. im sure that if there is a jewish and palestinan/arab ethnostates all will be resolved and nothing bad will come of it. i cant fucking belive people are defending ethnostates right now. crazy shit
  14. what is the nakba if not forcefull displasment?
  15. No, i said that because the person i was responding to said that about israel and hamas, that israel should take out hamas by any means necessary. Do you agree with that? That hamas must be taken out by any means necessary?
  16. you care about dead babies do you, how about dead palestinain babies, mutilated, burned, crushed, etc...havent see you comment about how those babies deserve justice and how we should do everything in our power to stop that. By any means necessary
  17. You posted you wanted to kill every single palestinian, get the fuck out of here wih your holier than thou bullshit. You've posted some pretty horrible shit, racist shit so please, a little self reflection before calling other peoples comment wild and crazy.
  18. yes the crimes of hamas are fucking horrible, you could say the same of israel, i think, the crimes commited by them (settlers, idf) are plenty and fucking horrible to, there is no shortage of stories by palestinian survivors of israeli opression in gaza and in the west bank, rapes, torture, murder, but somehow those crimes dont generate the same fervour to stop them(even though they are being perpetrated sistematically, for a long long time), those crimes dont requiere that we stop them by "any means necessary",why is that? so much sorrow and tears but somehow the suffering of palestinain people dont deserve the same level of empathy granted to israelis. palestianian people are humans to you know, they deserve better. i think also that "by any means necessary" is a very problematic thing to say and belive, isnt that what "terrorist" say? edited to say that the thinking "by any means..." is a complex one, because for example i do belive that in fighting opression, and im thinking in a specic example, that of the fight against the dictatorship in chile. in guerrila warfeare you sometimes have to use tactics that are considered to be "terroristic" and i think that some times those are justyfied in the fight against opression so i dont know, its a nuanced problem i think
  19. just wanted to pick up on this to say that its not just one fucked political leader, its state policy since the begining to make life impossible for the palestinians. netanyahu is a product of israeli politics and history.
  20. like when you thought every hostage was probably dead? and then it turns out they where alive and at least the hostages that where released where in good conditions. we dont know if they are all alive but to think they are probably not is strange to me given the info we got of past actions ( in regards to the hostages)
  21. well nothing comes to mind in the current conflict that i could praise israel for
