But then when the practice was shoved in her face and she was forced to examine it actively, she denounces it. That's pretty straightforward. It's not hypocrisy if you have changed your mind over time. It would only be hypocrisy if she sat in judgment of someone who had similarly changed their views, or if she was selling and buying slaves on the down low whilst executing slavers for practicing slavery. Not to mention the fact that this is story is coming from Xaro who clearly has an agenda which is to re-legalize slavery. If it is not forced labor why does man needs to be sold to leave? Because Xaro is a selfish piece of shit, he's not going to just help the guy for nothing. The guy was clearly free, he could have left anytime he wanted, hence not a slave.
