Guard of the Rainking
I think it's Joffrey in the time between the Red wedding and the Purple Wedding. All of Westeros under domain expect the Iron Islands and few rebel castles. The Lannisters on the side by blood and the Tyrells by marriage.A strong regent and hand to rule. Still a lot of his power was only nominal, but that has it's uses as well.
Flayed Starkman
Well, if you consider the short time Renly wore a crown, he had the combined might of The Reach and Stormlands behind him, so he could be in consideration.
Guard of the Rainking
Well, if you consider the short time Renly wore a crown, he had the combined might of The Reach and Stormlands behind him, so he could be in consideration. It would be interesting to know what exactly happened at Bitterbridge after Renly's death. How many went to their homes, how many fled to join Stannis, how many were from the Reach and how many from the Stormlands, how many joined Tywin's forces, how many, how many, how many, HOW MANY! SkaggCannibal
Cersei Lannister, when White Harbour had acknowledged Tommen, Dragonstone and Riverrun had been taken and Margaery was in the hands of the High Septon. Only Stannis at Deepwood Motte and the Ironborn on the Iron and Shield Islands were still in rebellion. That morning, Cersei was in the zenith of her power. dbunting
Strange answers since the characters themselves recognize that being King doesn't mean all powerful. Vary and Littlefinger have as much power as anyone and don't have an army
TheNinjaDC
If you go all the way back to clash, why not to games. Anyway, the most powerful per book representation: Game: King Robert, pre boar. Sure he was a horrible King, but the realm was united under his rule more than any other time in the series thus far. If it came to battle, he would lead an army of over 100K. Clash: Renly, the power of the Reach & Stormlands united by blood/marriage. He also had less enemies, though the ones he did had magic assassin's. Still, had a host comprised of 80-100k. Storm: Tywin, commanding what remains of the Westernland army, and a good chunk of the Reach though the alliance is no where near as strong as Renly's because of Cercei & general distrust. So I would say he commanded 50-80k swords. Feast & Dance: Kevin, picked up the pieces that Cercei left of the realm. The number of swords remains about the same, but the unity is near the breaking point because of everyone's favorite idiotic queen. More enemy's are appearing to peck at the sickly Tyrel & Lanister combined beast(Iron Born, Golden Company, and reforged Stannis[with the Vale & Dorne getting ready to jump in]). So, 40-70k. Also, my numbers are based on swords they could actively command. Yes, the Reach could put out 80-100k army on their own, but unity & self interest limit them being brought to full bear. Example, it's hard to get 10-15k from the Highgardens to fight the Golden company when they are fighting the Iron Born. Tywin & Kevin also could never truly pull out the full might of the Reach in their alliance as Lanister self interest differs from Tyrell. To summarize, the kingdom's most powerful player's power has been dropping since book 1.

TheNinjaDC
Time to commission that Hand-Shaped Tombstone for Mace Tyrell then. :) I would prefer a puffer fish with a crown. :cool4: Could be a sphere of swords meant to look like the iron throne, but having an odd fish like curve from the forge.... Good Guy Garlan
Mace, now that Kevan is dead and Cersei imprisoned. In theory, Tommen rules over the majority of every region except the Iron Islands, and Mace is his Hand

brown ben romney
tywin post purple wedding, pre getting shot by tyrion. the north and riverlands are defeated, tommen is way easier to control than joffrey, stannis is preoccupied at the wall. the ironborn are fighting over who should succeed balon as king so they're not much of a threat at the moment and the tyrell alliance is relatively secure.
