Yes, it "counts" in the sense that it's an object. But it has no power of its own. If you steal the IT and take it to Dorne, it doesn' mean Doran is king hehe. So it's not really worth that much.

It's got value as a historical artifact, by that logic the origional US Constitution would have no value, or the English Crown Jewels, or Michelangelo's David

Of course, but that's not what he meant. He was comparing its value to dragonbinder or actual dragons...

the Jewels have value even if no historic - biggest diamond, lots of gold etc - for parts the chair is just steel, maybe some vs but mainly steel

But they're not inherently useful, I was arguing that things can still have emense value when they're useless or just symbols, even diamonds, rubies etc, they're just rocks, you can't eat them, wear them (the stone alone), live in them or fight with them, but they're extremely valuable

The ruby worn by Melisandre seems to render her immune to freezing winter temperature, as well as protect her from poison.

People may underestimate its value. To me, the ruby is FAR more valuable than a Valyrian steel weapon.

I'd say that there are only 2 objects more valuable than the ruby:

-a dragon egg that's guaranteed to hatch

-The Dragon Horn owned by Victarion, since it allows its user to control dragons.

Lightbringer, if it exists. Euron's horn has a lot of value obviously, if it's real, but Drogon is still young and quite small, and no one is particularly fond of Valyrians and their dragons. So not many people will follow someone just because he has a young dragon. More people will try to kill it or maybe steal it. You could take a risk and use Drogon in war to some degree yourself, or you could sell him and get an army, but that's limited by what the buyer can pay.

If you have the Lightbringer, you have a whole major religion behind you with their magic and numerous fanatical followers. Also, Lightbringer is part of mythology of most cultures in the known world. If you have the Lightbringer, and there's some way to tell that it's the real Lightbringer, not just another focus sword, then you could get anything, a massive empire, worldwide personality cult, whatever you want.

Great points. The true Lightbringer is indeed the most valuable item.

I didn't think of it because it did not appear yet in the series. Stannis' sword might be an early, incomplete Lightbringer, so it's not as valuable. The complete Lightbringer is said to emit heat as well as light, according to Maester Aemon. That means that it would grant its bearer immunity to freezing temperatures, like Melisandre's ruby does.
