Lion Of The Night
Kings Landing is gone, razed to the ground. The land is once again at a tenuous peace, but we need a new Capital for the 7 Kingdoms (or Capitals for the several kingdoms that may be formed)Where would you put it? Pecan
On the southern shore of the God's Eye or, assuming some sort of mitigation can be done for flooding, on the north shore of the Trident near where the Red Fork, Blue Fork, and Green Fork come together. Game Of Thrones
Southwestern shore of the God's Eye sounds good.
Julia Martell
King's Landing is in a damn good position. Saltpans, I guess. I like putting cities at the mouths of rivers.
Waylin Stark
Oldtown or Lannisport. Not ideal, but the capital should be in a major city, not some small village.

Waylin Stark
KL was originally a part of the Kingswood. How many people live in it now? Yeah, but that was like 300 years ago right? During Aegon's arrival. If you want to rule a city that has just experienced civil war and foreign invasions, it would be better to do so from a large and wealthy place, somewhere near the sea so you can also maintain a navy. Northernmonkey
You really want the court to move capitals every few years? Yeah why not. Lets say they can move to Duskendale when they need to.
Ingelheim
KL is fine. It's neutral territory. Jaime says that to Cersei when she wishes she could move the capital to Lannisport.
Hand to King Davos
Dragonstone. Neutral location, centrally located in Westeros, also a strong fortress.

King Viserys Targaryen IV
I would build a new Castle/ city a little further east from King's Landing where the Wendwater River flows into the Blackwater Bay. I would then re-enforce both Stonedance and Sharp Point and build another fortress South East of my new Capitol, on the Shore of the Narrow sea South of Massey's Hook to protect the capitol from invaders from the East
Minstral
Perhaps the Bay of Crabs would be a decent location if you want existing infrastructure to give a boost to a new capital.
Archmaester Drew
King's Landing is in a fairly optimal location for a capitol for all of Westeros. It is central, coastal, and has the roads. I would rebuild it. Besides, who would want to ruin Oldtown? ;)
