Arataniello
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/34189/cersei-nudity-on-thrones-cost-a-bunch I guess that's why they call it "buck" naked if it costs that much.
Mark Lannister
Yeah, I have seen this mentioned in a number of posts on here. Such a frightening amount of money. Hopefully the scene will be more than worth it and will fully justify the price paid. I have every faith that this will be the case.
larastone
Well I hope the scene ends up being as powerful onscreen as it was in the book. They better show it from Cersei's POV....

Lord Tony of House Stark
does anybody know if GRRM had a hand in the directing for this episode? he usually does something with all the major scenes.
Mark Lannister
does anybody know if GRRM had a hand in the directing for this episode? he usually does something with all the major scenes. From interviews and articles that I have read, unlike the past four seasons, he is not involved at all in Season 5, as director or as a writer.Although, he is obviously still the "executive producer". From the many other 'non-fan' news sources this news has been much the same. It's still not clear how much Lena was on 'set' and how much it was a body double. May not know for a long time. Seaworth'sShipmate
It'll probably be really traumatizing. Peopple shall pity her.
The Bastard Daughter
Really anticipating this scene...I hope they adhere to the book with this one...and at the end Robert Strong.
Beric175
I think there were some recent news on watchersonthewall where it was said that apparently Qyburn and Ser Robert Strong await Cersei at the end of her walk of shame so I'm hoping for a cool helmet for Robert Strong because we need people to wonder about his face at least for a little while. queenrhaenys
The total cost of the four day shoot? A whopping $200,000 for what is essentially an FX-free scene. That was a lot of money!!! I mean A LOT. I hope I can say "it will be worth it" but, Cercei naked as her name day is really NOT the most anticipating view for me.

Beric175
yeah but you'll get some people who will probably say she deserved it. Those are the same chauvinists who called Skylar a b**** in Breaking Bad because she dared oppose Walter White's criminal career. Misogyny is awful and I hope the scene will once and for all make people realize that both the show and the books are not sexist but are ABOUT a sexist and brutal society. I disagree that people who think Cersei deserved her walk are being misogynists. At the start of the walk, we're all supposed to think she's finally getting her comeuppance. It's while she's walking that we're supposed to rethink our position on the whole thing. And saying that the Septon was sexist for giving her that punishment is fine. Saying that you should feel that she's a victim as soon as she's punished for her misdoings or you're a misogynist is not fine.

GoldHandTheGood
yeah but you'll get some people who will probably say she deserved it. Those are the same chauvinists who called Skylar a b**** in Breaking Bad because she dared oppose Walter White's criminal career. Misogyny is awful and I hope the scene will once and for all make people realize that both the show and the books are not sexist but are ABOUT a sexist and brutal society. I don't think those two examples are at all comparable. On one hand we have an innocent (for a while at least), and fearful wife confronting her husband over his entry into the meth world, and yes, sadly a good portion of idiots took it as her being the nagging wife cliche and reacted with a moronic hostility to the character. On the other hand we have Cersei, a sociopathic, sadistic woman who would happily torture and maim an innocent whore simply to get back at her brother, along with the other myriad horrible things she's done. . If people say Cersei deserves it, it's not necessarily misogyny, but more likely the unpleasant nature of her character. People could be saying she deserved it in the same way others might have said Jaime deserved having his hand chopped off for pushing a kid out a window. I doubt we'd hear too many cries of "misandry!" if people said he deserved it. Now don't mistake me saying this as me saying she deserved the walk of shame. I just think it's a bit unfair to assume it would be misogyny if people were pleased about a particularly nasty character getting their comeuppance. And personally, I don't think HBO, and D&D should simply do the scene in a particular way so as to please people's political and social expectations when it comes to gender equality, and make sure nobody thinks they're sexist. I see it as pointless, because there will always be people who take it the wrong way, and instantly assume misogyny. After the sept scene, the walk will most likely get a lot more heat than it would have before, though I could be wrong.
Beric175
By all accounts, punish Cersei for what she's done but not in the way that the Faith is doing it, namely by adding gratuituous humiliation on top of everything else just to break her. That is just plain excessive on their part.
larastone
The problem with people thinking she deserves the WOS is that she's not being punished for her actual crimes, she's only being punished for being sexual.
