Jaemi Greysnow
Has anybody seen the pilot? Is it available anywhere? There's obviously the spot the difference with Sean Bean's beard in the first episode... Just wondered what other differences there are; I think I heard a different actor plays Cat Stark....? Bael's Bastard
This is all the info I've ever seen on the pilot: http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Pilot_episode
Lady Blizzardborn
Jennifer Ehle played Catelyn. Daenerys was played by Tamzin Merchant. And there was a scene of Rickard and Brandon's execution. That's all I know.

Tamzin looks so otherworldly, but I guess she doesn't fit the 'hottest woman eva!!!' bit. I wish Jennifer Ehle was in more, its like she did P&P and a few indie things every now and again. She dropped out of GoT only because she had a new baby and she lives in NY. Didn't want to be away from her child for all the months of filming. She was sorry to leave, but is a huge supporter and fan of the show now. Would have made an awesome Cat. Tamzin apparently did a good job. The producers said there was no issue with the quality of her work. Probably a contract issue, or not wanting to be tied down for several years. She would have been good I think, especially with the vulnerability, but Emilia captures the character so utterly that it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role now. I did also read that the Pilot had a different feel to it. Ned and Cat's relationship especially was written as more distant, less loving. They rewrote the whole thing to get us the first episode of the series and were very happy with the result.
Annara Snow
Dan and Dave have said that the problem with the pilot was that they hadn't realized that they had not explained some things properly to people who haven't read the books, and they realized that when none of the people they showed the pilot to understood that Jaime and Cersei were siblings.I also know that some scenes from the pilot were reused for episode 1. One of them is the Cersei/Sansa scene - they just inserted Michelle Fairley into the scene later. It is actually obvious that Sophie was younger in that scene than in the rest of the episode/season (she was 13 when the pilot was shot). I think that another one was the Tyrion/Sandor scene, you can see how different Sandor's burns and hair were like compared to the rest of the show. But shouldn't this be in the show section? Konradsmith
Ian McNeace played Illyrio in it. There's a picture of him with some weird headdress floating around from the shoot. But yeah, this should defs be in the show section.

Yeah Tyrion's hair is also generally quite different in the first episode, I think possibly closer to how it is in the book, as it's meant to be whiter, less golden, if memory serves.. Anyway as I mentioned earlier, I just love the spot the beard with Sean/Ned.. Yes it should have been in the "show" section, it was literally my first post on here, and I am a simpleton. Thanks again for all your replies..
