But for the moment it keeps everyone's hopes alive. It especially keeps the rage quitters from last season from carrying through with their rage quit, at least until Jon Snow burns on a funeral pyre. Given I have serious doubts he's dead-dead in the books, I therefore have serious doubts that he's dead-dead in the TV show. I don't see the TV show diverging from the books in this regard. But I will not be watching the show again until the books are completely done. The show isn't good enough for me to spoil what little remains in common with the books.
