LongRider
The Elder Brother told us that Sandor was "at rest" not at peace. When the Gravedigger threw dirt on Bri's feet I'd say he showed us he's not at peace. Is he coming back into the story? Oh yeah, his story is not done. Cleganebowl? No, not happening. Sandor has shown us he can fight his brother, whom he fought fairly although the Mountain didn't, so that's done. He bested fire and the supernatural when he killed Beric, so that's done. He has other battles ahead and Robert Strong isn't one of them. I think RS will blow up in the faces of Cersei and Qyburn's faces. Already the other kingsguard are noticing he's different. The Dwarfs Penny
I don't get the whole clegane-bowl. I read the song a few times I'm in the process of reading feast again and I just don't see it. Sandor "the hound" clegane is Dead! Am I the only one that thinks the gravedigger on quiet isle is NOT the hound?

WalkinDude
I always assumed Lancel would be the one to fight Robert Strong as the Faith's champion. Obviously Lancel will get killed in a single blow and remove any further evidence of Cersei's involvement with Robert's death as well as her numerous acts of adultery. This will empower Cersei and enable her to do more bat shit crazy things with Kevan and Pycelle now out of the picture. Who else can stand up to the Mountain? Jamie has one hand and would be defeated as quickly as Lancel will be. Brienne may be big, but she doesn't stand a chance against the Mountain. Unless we get some new badass character introduced (unlikely), that leaves the Mountain's ultimate demise to Sandor (healed and empowered by the Faith) or one of Dany's dragons. While the latter would certainly be funny and swift, it's not good story telling. There's always Loras, but last we heard he's dying on Dragonstone, so his miraculous recovery to fight the Mountain one last time seems unlikely. Varyslostloveball
Well, if the storey is based on 3 acts to represent the original trilogy it was meant to be, then they both go down at the closing of the first act in ASOS. Then, in the second act, we have Gregors slow death and resurrection, as well as hints of Sandors survival and new life on the Quiet Isle. There's no reason they cant meet in act 3. Doesn't Bran have a vision of Sansa slaying a giant in a castle made of snow? Alternatively there are still a lot of strong warriors out there. Plus he's an undead zombie - maybe there are other ways to destroy him. We don't really know the rules yet.
jr8zeppelin
“And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.” Valonqar means little brother... But it doesn't say your little brother. Could it be Loras?
Jasta11
It obviously won't happen, for three reasons. 1. The Hounds story is finished, It was a perfect ending for him. He found peace after a lifetime of horrible violence. Bringing him back now would ruin all that. 2. Most readers probably still think he's dead. It would seem cheap and tacky if he suddenly turns up again. 3. Having the Clegane v Clegane fight seems too neat and tidy for GRRM. He doesn't give us what we want or expect - for example we'll never see Reek getting revenge on Ramsay or Sam living up to his father's expectations. Too cliched and predictable. To say nothing of the fact that his leg seems permanently injured, as he is still limping. If you're going to go up against an undead Gregor, that's the kind of handicap that will make the fight very swift indeed, and not in a good way. After all, HBO are good at doing these sort of things They are, and I honestly don't mind it, if its done well. I loved the hound's actor and would be happy to see him return. Cleganebowl won't happen, likely because Sandor is too weak and FrankenGregor is just too strong
chrisdaw
And by that you mean? It's really painfully obvious. Perhaps without names it becomes clearer. Character gets mauled by his big brother as a child. Big brother does other awful things and for it is rewarded by the world with knighthood, big brother later also kills a child and is not punished. Character therefor hates big brother, knighthood and is bitter about the workings of the world in general. Character therefor becomes a bitter asshole. Character and older brother are super bad ass fighters. Character longs to kill older brother but is too honourable to do so. Character spends his story bouncing about protecting children, but his protection is rejected by one because he's too scary and another denies him mercy because he's generally an asshole. Character has near death experience, character is reborn in the light of religion. Character has an injury. Happily on hand is a gifted religious healer. Religion is on a come back, rearming, lead and followed by true believers. One of their historic orders is a group of knights dedicated to actual knightly ideals, protecting those who can not protect themselves, like children. It takes a single knight to make another, and again, happily, a knight turned religious leader just happens to be on hand overseeing Character. Religious order of knights also happens to be noted for killing demons. Elsewhere, older brother has died and been turned into, you guess it, a fucking demon. Character now has conscionable reason to kill older brother, as it would be a mercy to end older brother's now demonic slave existence. Character now knows all about longing for mercy, as he was denied it earlier by child. So fill in the blanks here.
