There are reasons you can use to argue that Lyanna eloped, but "Lyanna was too Strong to get kidnapped" is not one of them. When people say that, what they're also saying by logical consequence is "Only weak women get kidnapped".

There is no doubt (at this point) that Lyanna at least cooperate with Rhaegar's kidnapping, if not planning this with him together. 

It looks like a kidnapping, sure, but by nature, it is not. Lyanna is happy to be stolen by Rhaegar.

Well if Lyanna had a direwolf, it would have come from Bloodraven and probably growled at the Robert, the future usurper. Lyanna would have run off with Rhaegar after Robert made the mistake of telling a she-wolf that she would be better off with a puppy.

On a more serious note, even if Lyanna ran off for love, she could have had no way of knowing that her father and brother would die or that a full-scale civil war would break out (unlike us she didn't get to read the book). She would certainly not be a piece of human garbage compared to the many characters who actually set out to cause death and destruction. Timjames, I continue to be disturbed that you think it 'better' for Lyanna to be kidnapped and raped than for her to be a flawed person in a series where flawed people abound.

As for her not doing her duty, well the marriage was arranged to benefit her father's ambitions and Robert's desires. She was the person with the least say in the marriage and the least to gain from it. Robert and Rickard, House Stark and House Baratheon would have taken the benefit and Lyanna would be the one paying the price.

It is possible that Lyanna and Brandon and even Benjen had direwolves, that they met on the Rills when they went out riding. They would not have mentioned them to Dad. They would NOT have travelled South with the kids (or at least not so that they were seen).

However I feel fairly sure that their MOTHER Lynara had a direwolf, and assume that that was the wolf that was the mother of the six pups. Question is who was the daddy wolf.

However Lyanna would not have had a wolf at the ToJ, since Ned would have known of it - UNLESS Howland Reed took responsibility for the wolf, but it was really Lyanna's wolf that knocked out the Kingsguard -  or perhaps Ned's wolf - about whom he knew nothing.

Not just herself, her father also needs to obey an arranged marriage, her brother too.
