Who can fix Bowen Marsh's mess?

I agree that the conspiration did not start with the arrival of the Pink Letter, however, Jon's sudden change of plan may have prompted Bowen and the others to act earlier than they were going to.  

Maybe, and maybe not. Jon did hear screaming just before his "death," and we have not yet learned what the cause of that screaming was. Jon's assasination attempt? Wun Wun? Wights and/or Others?

Or could it be those unnaccountably absent Black Brothers making mischief?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Others just happened to choose this very moment to attack... and if the Wall just happened to come tumbling down right then as well, letting the Others come through and releasing a huge amount of magical energy at the same time. (And who knows, maybe Ramsay is coming as well...) Exactly the right time for watchmen and wildlings to be at each other's throats. 

Well, of course, that's just speculation above, but whatever the aftermath is, the situation is unlikely to be fixed quickly, and the result may be felt, eventually, by the whole realm.

But it will take some time. Furthermore, we have not seen the full extent of Bowen's mess yet. Bowen and the assassins will quickly dump Jon's body into an ice cell before anyone sees what happened. Next day, Bowen will declare that Jon deserted his post and became an oathbreaker. He will send letters to every castle in the north about Jon's desertion. All this will make it even harder for Jon to fix.
