Not organica and never was 15. Not mineral 16. Not a body part 17. Not a member of a certain character 18. Not a weapon 19. Not clothes 20. Cannot be touched 21. Not dreams or visions 22. Not something inside the body 23. Not prophecies 24. Not necessarily written, but it can be 25. It could be a carving, but generally not (actually, I will change this aanswer to: it probably is, among other things it can be. I'd be very surprised if it's not a carving, among other things, but I'm really not sure if we have seen it as a carving, I'm trying to remember and I can't.) 26. Not letters (in either sense of the word) You all wasted a lot of questions before you figured out it is not a physical object, and then apparently forgot it is not a physical object. Wuestions 23-25 were pretty close. Come on, surely you can remember something very typical and memorable from ASOAIF and GoT that is way more obvious than runes or ice magic and so on? This type of thing is one of the first things people think when they think of ASOAIF/GoT. Something that is not a physical object, that can be written or carved (but exists anyway even if it is not)... really? No one?
