Westeros
Entertainment Weekly‘s James Hibberd has revealed through a tweet that he spent time on the set of Game of Thrones when filming was going on in Dubrovnik. In the tweet, he coyly refers to an outdoorsy, pet-owning girl he met while travelling… and he shared this photo of himself posing with Emilia Clarke in costume as Daenerys Targaryen. What interests us most is the background, however, which is our first glimpse at one of the sets built to represent the fabled city of Qarth.read on >>>Visit the Site! Ran
Pretty sure by the looks of that dolly track that there's going to be some sort of push-in to the gate with Dany and co. in front of it as it opens up to reveal the splendor of Qarth. Hyper
Aren't the walls of quarth really big?And this is where the Hollywood magic of set extension and green screens come into play. Seriously... Do you think they really built a 700ft high wall set for season 1?
Ran
The outer walls are thirty feet high. Seems clear to me they're going to extend those walls higher with effects, however, as I noted in the post.

Ran
I'm supposing Screen Scene is still on board, but if they've taken over the whole job or if someone else has come in to replace BlueBolt, we're not sure.

They look like they are over 20 ft tall, which is probably good enough.
