Shane snow
Could heart of winter be the heart tree in winterfell and something significant about that one
Lady Sansa Stark
Anything could be. But I don't think so. I'm quite sure the Heart of Winter is really the Heart of Winter. Where the Others are, where the Others come from, where the Others go. Where it is always Winter. The Worst Winter of any Winters. The Heart of the second Long Night. Fire Eater
The heart of winter could be made of light or some kind of heart tree at the North Pole.

redriver
The heart of winter is life extinguishing cold or a hell for the damned,I would say.But the heart tree in Winterfell is in some ways the heart of Winterfell. It's the way the old gods tune in to whats happening there. They witness a sham marriage between Ramsay and a fake Arya which establishes Ramsay as the "Trueborn Lord of Winterfell",and hey presto, winter arrives. Faceless Man Friday
I have no support for this but think that the heart of winter is the big blue heart that Dany saw in the House of the Undying. Of course this assumes a connection between the Undying and the Others, which may or may not be the case.
