SerWest
Don't know if this has ever been brought up, but I find it interesting at the least. Especially in regards to magical qualities of the wall. Maybe the NW were started by The Others, and the Night's King is more important than we think...PS: apologies for the poor grammar in the title. therealbando
It would be a very interesting idea, but the fact that the Wall is so vulnerable from the South makes it very unlikely...
Addam of Hull
I think you should check out the heresy threads. This is exactly the kind of things that get discussed in them!
Night'sQueen
Similar discussion just happened recently and people went bananas about the concept of the Others building the Wall, so best of luck to you.Have you checked out the Heresy threads? There is great discussion about this among "heretics." :)
Tommens Cat
im not sure who built it, but i have a theory that Torrmunds Member could actually pull the wall down...........But Mance was too scared to blow it!
Leif
It's been suggested. It's a really silly idea, IMO.
Hrafntýr
Yeah, do visit Heresy. Your idea is basically at the core of what's been discussed there for the last 58 volumes of the thread!
TheonGreyjoy
This wouldnt make any sence, since the castles is on the south side of the wall.
The Pain Yak
Coldhands can't cross the Wall because of magic that's been woven into it. If the Others built the Wall, wouldn't the magic prevent humans from crossing north, not Wights crossing south? It's a funny concept, but not one that stands up under any kind of scrutiny. Mad Monkey
It's a clever idea, but there really isn't any evidence for it, is there? The Others have apparently left no instructions or records behind and the Wall does not seem to prevent southerners from moving beyond it (the only reason that they don't is because it's dangerous and unpleasant, not because it is physically difficult). Tyler Linn
Beautiful question. Also, if the sea freezes over than the Others will be able to walk over it.
JonNonRegis
If the Others built the Wall for themselves, it was mighty thoughtful of them to also build the Black Gate in the Wall, which only the Night's Watch can use.(It was also mighty foresighted, since the Night's Watch didn't yet exist.) J. Stargaryen
If the War for the Dawn ended with a truce between Others and humans, then it might be conceivable that the Others helped to build the Wall. The benefit for them being that it severely limited human expansion into the LBtW.
