serkneeler
I have heard many theories on who val may or may not be. Obviously GRRM puts many things in his novels to get you thinking who someone could be or what their significance may or may not be. Val has blonde hair with pale grey eyes but when she is speaking to Jon Snow before going to find Tormund she is described as having a honey colored braid with skin as pale as snow. As pale as snow. I also remember something about her eyes changing from grey to blue. Am i the only one that caught this. What is the possibility that Val is the descendant of the Nights King and his Other bride. I know it sounds farfetched but the Nights King is said to have given his seed to his Other bride, what if centuries of breeding have left her looking and being more human than Other but could she possibily have some sort of supernatural abilities because of this. She tells Jon Snow exactly when she will be back with or without Tormund and the wildlings to seem to hold her in high regard. Just some thoughts that i cant get out of my head, could use some help sorting this out thanks.
WildBlood
I am not sure but is seems very unlikely.. I mean we are talking about some 8000 years of breeding. And the Wildlings are not like folks in the south, they don't use so much discretion choosing their mates. Even in the unlikely scenario the night's kings's Other Wife did procreate, the blood would be so watered down by now...
Jon's Queen Consort
welcome :cheers:Ι believe in Fire Eater's theory that she is Crowfood's granddaughter
winwolf
Nah thats to far fetched indeed, she could be somebody mysterious though.
serkneeler
I agree its a bit farfaetched but there are subtle clues that she is not any ordinary wildling. This could all fall in line with her being Crowfoods daughter or grandaughter(not sure on the timeline) but it almost seems to simply obvious. There is definitely morr to Val than meets the eye
serkneeler
Also when she leaves the wall to find Tormund why is she not attacked by wights or Others, is it her blood that protects her or something else
TepidHands
She's definitely Dalla's sister, and Dalla wasn't strong enough to survive childbirth, so whatever was down the family tree wasn't all that strong.
David Selig
Nobody special, just a normal wildling woman. Not everyone in this series has to have a famous bloodline.
serkneeler
Isnt that series kind of wrapped around the ideology that if your blood isnt from some old and significant person/group of people then you wont be a difference maker.

jentario
Why does Val have to be someone? Secret identity theories are getting old...
serkneeler
Im not saying its true but i think there is more to it than some of the other theories out there. The Crowfood theory is a good one but many of these theories are just readers reaching out for something more because GRRM leaves us no choice but to wonder with this much time in between books and how much he hints at things in his books that may or may not be true. Its all part of his master plan.
