Mr Hodor
He was there to release the dragons, show Dorne's support for the Targs and possibly one of his mates who escorted him there may be important in the next book.he could have done all those things without a POV. 4 wasted chapters. TamingAemon
he could have done all those things without a POV. 4 wasted chapters. You would've have to make one of his friends a POV then because Dany barely spares a thought for the poor guy and you wouldn't have had the mindset of a Dornishman or someone who knows his motives for releasing the dragons. If it was just Selmy it would look as if Quentyn was actually trying to destroy Meereen
silentwanderer
Arys Oakheart is winning this with a great head start.Personally, I don't understand it: I was looking forward to know what happened to Myrcella in Dorne ever since the Riots in King's Landing. Ice Turtle
Personally, I don't understand it: I was looking forward to know what happened to Myrcella in Dorne ever since the Riots in King's Landing. And why couldn't we learn this from Aero's or Arianne's POV? silentwanderer
Because neither one of them were from King's Landing: Arianne would only be partial to Dorne even before the Red Viper's death, and Aero was loyal to his Princess and Doran since they gave him his axe.Since I didn't skip any chapter, Arys Oakheart was the only Kingsguard I knew from King's Landing. Queen of the Andals
Sorry to say this, but Bran. His chapters really drag for me. I like him so much more on the show than in the books.

silentwanderer
I really enjoyed all his chapters but to each his/her own. They are the most supernatural chapters of the books, even more so than Dany's IMO.

I loved his search for the three-eyed crow even though many posters considered that boring.
King of Winters
Very entertaining and interesting. I loved his search for the three-eyed crow even though many posters considered that boring.I really enjoyed his ADWD chapters and he's one of the POVs I can't wait to read in TWOW. I think he's going to be one of the most interesting POVs in TWOW with Bloodraven, COTF, Jon's resurrection and his Greenseering abilities. Yakman
Arys Oakheart is winning this with a great head start.oh the puns!Anyhow, most of Feast I could have done without. It was all world building, but almost nothing advanced the plot.

thewaythingsare
For me it's mainly all the Greyjoy chapters that don't interest me. Brienne's chapters in AFFC also felt like they were dragging on until about 2/3 into the book and Dany's chapters have never been favourites of mine either. Many of the Dorne chapters in AFFC felt a bit slow to me, but as you get to know the characters more I think in future books they will pick up a bit. devilrob6
Arys, he had only one chapter that also might have been told from Arianne's POV.Hotah, thought it was nice meeting DoranBut the 'winner' for me is Damphair.
Scarlet Seastar
I know this will probably be a little off topic, but GRRM has a pattern with his PoVs if you really look into it.Some of the PoVs are just 'eyes' in an area, like Areo Hotah, Asha in ADWD, Damphair, Victarion. Usually they have a very good perception on things that are happening around them, well, not Victarion, but the "eyes" classification works for him too. And I find these chapter tedious to read. Some of them are to give us a bit more info on stuff, like the prologues and Mel's chapter, a little clues that I never pick until I come here on the forum. Then there's the character developments and adventures: I put them in the same category because you either hate them or you love them-Jon, Bran, Dany, Arya, Sam, Davos, Sansa, Tyrion(his character evolved into something sinister and totally unlikable), Jaime, Barristan, and some others that I can't remember at the moment. But they're either really boring, especially Bran's chapters before he went north, not to mention Brienne's, but they're boring because we get a lot of info dropped that we only care about after we've read the books once and start digging for clues and foreshadowings in the dreams, visions, and two dogs fighting over chicken bones. It's really hard to categorize PoVs, especially the last group, because there are characters that have stuff happening to them but their character doesn't develop, it's just GRRM's way of giving us the mind of the character(like Cercei), and Barristan clearly serves as the eyes in Meereen until Dany gets back, but his chapters are still more adventurous than Areo Hotah's or the Damphair's for instance. On the other hand, we have Sansa, who is just beginning to develop as a character.Anyway, a PoV that I really don't care about is Victarion, Damphair, Areo Hotah, and Cercei. Edit: in that order. Lady of Castamere
Any Greyjoy expect Theon. So boring and not the people you can identify with
The headless hand
Brienne was my least favourite POV character, which is not to say I don't like her as a character. However, her chapters in AFfC are essentially her just traveling the crown/riverlands, they picked up for her last 2 chapters however.I also didn't particularly enjoy Victarion's chapters either but I think that's probably down to the fact and don't like him. silentwanderer
Any Greyjoy expect Theon. So boring and not the people you can identify withThey Greyjoys POVs pay off a thousand-fold once you figure out Victarion's plot, until then they are the most inconspicuous key players of the entire saga IMO.(And that is counting the Griffs).
