Carr896
I've always wondered how other readers pronounce maester. Personally, I pronounce it as My-stir, but in the show, I've seen it being pronounced phonetically as My-stir, and May-stir. I'm just curious as to how you guys pronounce it as well. Nacht en Ontij
For Dutch people it's easy. The Dutch translation of 'master' is 'meester' and that's exactly the way it gets pronounced in the tv series: may-stah.

The Mother of The Others
Well I knew 'Maestro' was pronounced 'My-stro', so I just assumed the same applied for 'Maester'. 'My-ster'Yes, but I don't like Maestros--never have--and I don't trust them to pronounce their own job title properly. Plus, Maesters seem capable of just about everything, whereas a Maestro does what, really? Just about nothing.Maist-her. (Maist her? I hardly knew her!)
