Mal Malenkirk
His endgame is to waterski behind his flagship, drunk of his ass, while taunting a kraken trying to catch him and screaming 'I'm the king of the w... of Westeros!'' at the top of his lungs. Cynical Classicist
I think Aurane Waters is mainly on the side of Aurane Waters. Not everybody has to be part of a huge conspiracy. There are just some greedy opportunists. Aurane has broken with the Lannister regime, seeing he can get more wealth through stealing the ships. This may have been him seeing he'd lose his power without Cersei. Though he did set the plan of making a pirate fleet up quite nicely. Perhaps it was a long-term plan, he always intended to steal the ships. Him being part of a Tyrell conspiracy... he'll probably just join up with whoever gives him the best offer. Aegon is definitely a possibility, as he needs ships to move his army. Waters may wait seeing how Aegon does, then if the GC starts winning he'll sail over and pledge his service. Wavey Sauce
He just serves himself only. simple as that. He played Cersei for sure. I also think he knows that Loras never went to Dragon Stone either, but who knows where he is with Cerseis fleet

Also with all the new ships he did not hire and take on proven soldiers or lannister/tyrell knights. He took all new younger guys who are all loyal to him with no ties to any of the royal families

Victarion Chainbreaker
House Valyron is very closely tied to the Targaryans. AegonAre you suggesting a parallel between Aurane and Alyn of Hull, the bastard who was adopted by Corlys Velaryon and as Alyn Velaryon became the Master of Ships? Alyn was apparently a bastard of Laenor Velaryon, though it is also claimed he was a bastard of Laenor's father Corlys Velaryon, who had him legitimized. But I get the point.
