Anyone else think Nymeria will make an appearance in TWOW? during the previous books i was always lookinng forward to hearing something about the wolves in the riverlands being lead by a giant she wolf and all that jazz. I know its a matter of time before she makes an appearance, I just want to know what roll you guys think she'll play in the final books and if she will be reunited with Arya. Ultimate theory for me Greywind lives and is with nymeria when arya finds her (dont think it'll happen). whooooo goosepimples even thinking how awesome that wud be. let me know what you think sure. peace out!!

Wecome!

I certainly hope you are right about Nymeria.  I would love it if she were reunited with Arya.  Also, I would love it if Greywind were still alive.  I will cross my fingers.  However, a little FYI, most posters believe GW to be dead.  They will tell you in no uncertain terms and shake their cyber fists in your cyber face if you don't agree.  I'm with you, though.

Grey wind's head was sewn to Robb's body - he's dead.

I definitely can't wait for Nymeria to re-appear in the story, hopefully with Arya. Maybe Arya will show up with another face but Nymeria will know just who she is.

Greywind is dead, unfortunately.

Arya and Nymeria will lead an army of wolves, Jon will lead an army of wildlings and Sansa will lead an army from the Vale (they are still at full strength I believe). Revenge by the Starks!

Edit: forgot about Rickon leading an army from Skagos

I think you mean that maybe Lady is still alive?  Greywind is headless lol his head is on Robb's body.  I think his death is a pretty safe assumption.  Unless its like in Ted where maybe Robb had his head sewn onto Greywind's body and somebody made a prayer to revive the wolf.  Which would be a very strange turn of events lol.  But yeah joking aside I am pretty sure you guys just mixed up the names.  Its not much of a wonder if decapitating a direwolf and sewing it to Robb's body would guarantee the death.

Sadly Grey Wind is dead. But I would love to see either a massive pack of wolves warged by the Stark children, or just Arya being a badass and riding in on Nymeria leading an army of wolves. It would be cool to see the latter in the epilogue of TWoW through the eyes of some farmer as the pack decends on him.

Grey Wind's dead. As for Nymerias's role, I believe she will have something to do with Arya's identity (as she already has, but her role will become more significant). After that, Arya will get Nymeria and her wolves and they might even go to wars. I'd love it if people start calling her "Queen of Wolves". That would be so awesome.

i'm hoping that when the battle against the Others looks lost, all of a sudden a psychopathic 11 year old leads a charge of 500 wolves out of the woods, tearing out the throats of the undead.

I have no doubt that greywind is dead just one of many things i would love to happen. Im loving the Arya riding nymeria into battle with a wolf horde at her back idea ''The pack that hunts the dead' I would say if lady's also alive then she'll be with Nymeria but again i don't think ned let her go. Ghost will assemble the remaining pack for a final assault against whitewalkers and if that happens i dont think any will survive maybe bar summer if Bran wargs him.

There is no way that Lady is alive, Ned killed her for sure.  I highly doubt that Greywind is alive but IMO more likely than Lady.

When Arya was on her endless journey trying to get back to Winterfell there were a number of points where I thought she would be reunited with Nymeria, like when she runs into a wolf while using the restroom or the fact that they constantly hear wolves howling on the journey.  I think there is too much foreshadowing for Arya to not rejoin Nymeria at some point.  I think it's likely that Arya will have a different face when she returns to Westeros but I'm sure that Nymeria would recognize her.  Arya's link with Nymeria seems to be Wargish and we know that Wargs can sense their animals and vice versa.  I would assume the meeting is going to be a little awkward at first but they will soon be old friends again.  As for Arya leading any army of wolves?  I don't see that happening, it's not Arya's style.  If anything Arya would use Nymeria's prowess for a sneaky faceless wo\man attack.

Sadly I think Greywind is dead.

But I definitely hope that Arya and Nymeria are reunited AND they exact some justice.

They say a Lannister always pays his debts well Arya and Nymeria have come to collect!

There has definitely been too much mentions of this giant wolf horde to not play a part in the forthcoming books.

The arya - Nym reunion  will be one of my most anticiated moments for sure , yet I doubt it will play out how everyone envisions this is George after all .

I'm also slightly worried that they don't seem to be taking sides and have no fear whatsoever of men

How is it more likely that Greywind would be alive than Lady when it is shown that the head is sewn onto Robb's body?  Both are absolutely dead I just thought maybe it was the name of the character/wolf the poster confused, not the actual character/wolf.  It is more likely that R + L = ShaggyDog than GreyWind being alive.

The interesting thing is it has been brought to light that the wolves will eat dead things through Bran and Summer. I have my reservations about Dragons, beasts and humans, being the ones to come save the world. Although, I do believe Jon to be Rhaegar's son and he has the most important part to play in the fight for dawn.

Kick the bucket mutt. she's the worst direwolf. And Arya killing people with her trailing arya is overkill. arya would be more badass just being her.

Well I guess it is more likely greywind being alive then lady  , because we actually see ladys bones being brought back north and the direwolves begin to howl .

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we actually see the corpse of Robb only hear stories , but we also hear stories of how the wolf took down men before it was dead

Needless to say , they are both dead

Why is it so certain GW is dead?  In most cases, if a death is rumored but not seen, then it proves to be false (eg. Hound, Onion Knight).

They're both dead. You seriously need to let go.
