It's a film that haunted me for days after I saw it and Sibel Kikelli's performance was brilliant. To call her a "porn star" is pretty reductive of her talent, IMO. She did not actively try to get this role, but was invited to a casting more or less by accident.Oh, and by the way, one of her last movies, 'Die Fremde' nearly became the German contribution to the last Academy Awards, so, well, she is way above and beyond the porn business, and also not really dependent on TV series roles (even if this is HBO). They ooze sexuality like no other actress can produce and that will contribute to the atmosphere in Westeros. If she acts well (and obviously she does) what is the problem? Would you prefer a virgin to play a prostitute? There is no connection between the morality of an actor and his performance (e.g. Charlie Sheen). The discussion about porn is irrelevant here. Not unless you believe that by some strange force an ex-porn actress can bring this "immorality" into the HBO series which is a ridiculous notion. Consider the role she is playing which is one of a camp follower. You do realize that camp followers include whores to keep the soldiers entertained and happy, right? So if she's playing a whore in the HBO series and she's in particular a really good whore that Tyrion takes interest in her, I'd like to see a whore that can act as well as put out. Meaning that no one knew her porn stuff until it was revealed after she starred in a major critical acclaimed movie.Back to the role, Shae is my mind not such much a, well, whore as she is a character. Most of her scenes in the books work through dialogue and characterization, not such much through naked body parts and lots and lots of moaning. Sure, I want to see the sex scenes as well, especially those who are critically for the development of Tyrion's obsession, but to me Shae really is a complex and difficult character to portray, so they really need an actress to pull this off, and not just someone who can perform certain acts while looking good ;-).
