Welcome to our little corner of the forum, KP. Eponine kind of organizes the Facebook group, which is really just a long running message thread for meetups and GOT viewing parties.

I was not aware there was an official, like, HBO premiere here, misses the memo there.

I am really busy right now but encourage new people to set up a get together. It's not hard, pick a restaurant that usually isn't too crowded, pick a night, and start a thread. If you pm me, I'll make sure people who don't always check this forum get the message.

It turns out that I am coming to Denver in July. Would love to meet up with some people for a drink or three?

Also, bit of advice - I am looking at a nice looking place, but wondered if it's a convenient/okay neighborhood... Wash Park and South Broadway? I know nothing about Denver as of now. :(

Also also... microbrews I need to check out?

Would love to meet up, PM when you have an idea of when you'd be free for a drink and well set something up. How long will you be here?

Wash Park & Broadway should be convenient enough albeit not particularly lovely or exciting. In a few blocks East toward Wash Park is a nice neighborhood. If you're looking at hotels, but don't want to stay downtown, one along US 6 might be easier. I'm talking out my ass, I've never actually stayed in a hotel in Denver.

If you want to a whole day of beer, Ft Collins is worth the trip.

Whole...day...of...beer.... tell me more...

I have five days. Coming with my brother, sister, and their spouses. Our general thoughts/interests are baseball, hiking, beer, biking, wine, etc. Maybe other types of recreation. Museums/history also pluses. Good food.

Hey, if you're very interested in seeing baseball and museums while you're here, a bit farther north than S. Broadway in the Wash Park neighborhood might be a little more convenient.

Depending in your budget for hotels in Denver, I would be more than happy to make some specific recs.

Beers that must happen:

Ok, there's more, but you only have 5 days. Great Divide is my personal favorite brewery ever.

The Denver Art Museum is fantastic and good for families/children. As is the Zoo and the Science and Nature Museum.

Denver is awesome. I really hope you enjoy your visit!

ETA:

There is so much good food, I don't even know where to start. Again, I'd be happy to give specific recs if you have cuisine(s) in mind.

Ooh, thank you! I particularly enjoy the specific beer recommendations, and will try very much to get to Great Divide. It's 8:50 in the morning here, but I was salivating at their selection

As for food, I like all kinds, I am not picky...if you have a favorite restaurant (that isn't super expensive), then by all means?

Phoenix, do you live in the area? Are you interested in meeting up as well? When the time gets a little closer, I want to try arranging an outing/eating/drinking thing with Denver-area people.

We all do, and july sounds like a great time for a meet up. Ep usually sets them up (although I'm not sure how she got goat roped into that.) I for one, would love to meet you, and even if I'm working, feel free to come by the Fire Station I'm at for a ride along.

I live in the springs, so food recommendations are out of my wheelhouse. Denver has some great eateries though. I'm sure you'll get them all from the city dwellers on the board.

It is looking like my best date for meeting people might be Sunday, 13 July. Wish it could be a weekend night, but the night before my brother and I are going to the Twins-Rockies game, rooting for the visitors :)

My dates available are 13, 14, 15.

Yes, LL, I live in Denver proper. I love this city, and I would enjoy the chance to meet up! I have nothing on the docket for July and never work Sundays (hurray financial industry), so that would work for me.

Well, I have several favorite places to eat, I don't know whether we have the same definition of super expensive, so I'll list several options.

http://www.table6denver.com/ : T6 is my fave restaurant of all time. Amazing food, fun and funky wine list, the staff is unbelievable, and the beignets. I can't even with the beignets. To the point where I am pretty sure I'm spelling that wrong and I don't care. It's not a cheap night out, but if you keep the wine to a minimum and such, it's reasonable.

http://www.lalaswinebar.com/ : Hands down the best brunch in town. You can keep your 2 hour wait at Snooze or VooDoo Donuts, I'll take their $5 bottomless mimosa. The lunch/dinner menu is pretty nice as well. Modern Italian

http://www.denbisco.com/ : Oh yeah. DO it. You won't regret it.

http://www.goosetowntavern.com/ : Pub food and a great beer selection

OK, I'll stop going on and on.

Since you guys are hitting the game on Saturday, I'd recommend either doing Great Divide before or after (or both). It's 2 blocks from Coors Field.

Have you tried Rise & Shine biscuits? They put Denver Biscuit Co biscuits to shame. We just talked about how we're going to hit it before the Furry Scurry tomorrow. :)

Caveats: Don't plan to eat there, there is like one table -- it's a carry out situation. Also, it's really just biscuit sandwiches, not a full breakfast menu. But if what you want is a biscuit, they are to die for. http://www.riseandshinedenver.com
