  1. I don't have much time for luxury brands, like, but Coco Chanel is dead and has been for a number of years now. I don't think 'she was a Nazi collaborator' is much of a response to support of the brand now. Stego's point about 'made in Italy' not being as true as they claim is more relevant, though I'm sure there are better sources for that than a TV drama.
  2. Anyway looks like Amad is starting RWB for us today. We'll see how it plays out long term but I'm glad Amorim apparently sees the issues as well as the positives of him in the 10 position (whether that means his position is wide long-term or there's coaching going on behind the scenes to better use him in the 10).
  3. Like I say I think Mings should have gotten a red- and like Consigliere he's got form for being a reckless dickhead - but I get why the ref and VAR didn't send him off in the moment. Whereas there was absolutely no defence for Jackson, implausible or not.
  4. I think Mings should have got the red anyway for reckless play but this is definitely a more definite red card. Mings wasn't looking at his dude and the player wasn't there when he threw the elbow out, so he has plausible(ish) deniability. Jackson just looked at Botman and smashed him in the face.
  5. A very interesting episode this time. Obviously the setting and cultural background is new but that also showed in the way the story was told, the focus on oral storytelling and that. I'm obviously no expert on Nigerian culture and story but it lines up with what I've come across in the fantasy novels from West African/diaspora authors that have been getting some popularity in recent years.
  6. It's not hating Andor that the problem is with (although insisting on repeatedly insisting that it's terrible to a group of people who love it was never gonna make you friends). It's you openly expressing disdain for not just the show but the people who like it. You can't do that and then complain about the mean-spiritidness of your interlocutors. It makes me feel irritation.
  7. Well there was the tone you opened this discussion with the other day:
  8. You've convinced me. I'm ready for the Jason Sudeikis Star Wars show.
  9. I was honestly really trying my best to resist. I made a whole new topic and everything. (and I'd already done Fast and Furious. I'm really getting self-indulgent).
  10. It's funny coz there actually is a SF show that (sometimes) actually deals in the premise SLP is lauding Padme for over three separate topics now. It's just not Star Wars. (speech across two parts coz it isn't up anywhere all in one go. But genuinely one of the best tv monologues I've ever seen so... worth it).
  11. I'd prefer Madrid. At least that isn't a betrayal of Leverkusen.
  12. I think it is wrong, unless you have a very broad definition of the term 'knew'. Like, did they know that it was happening, in the church in general? Sure, so did everyone. But most priests have to do with their own parish or mission and maybe the ones next door, they're neither going to be in contact with other parishioners in a way they might hear something nor in the chain of command when it comes to dealing (or not dealing) with it.
  13. Ouch. I mean to be fair Saka being injured for a big chunk of the season definitely hurt his case for this season specifically. But as great as Rice clearly is I feel like Saka's clearly a better RW than Rice is a CM. Coz they both have great strengths but Saka basically has no weaknesses as a player.
  14. It is amusing to me how the two guys now found guilty in the Sycamore Stump case apparently just immediately turned on each other and tried to throw each other under the bus in hilariously unconvincing ways.
  15. A few people have said that and that is... very promising.
  16. Well he's the best player in the world in general but no, in serious land I mean Bukayo Saka.
  17. It's funny coz he was simultaneously always going to and clearly deserves to and also isn't the best player in the league.
  18. So yeah, I finally watched the first episode of the first season of Andor yesterday. Was, as some of you will know, good- funny how much higher quality the writing immediately is over most Star Wars stuff. Like, I appreciated a lot about the Acolyte and overall liked that show, but... levels.
  19. Obviously people are always going to suspect you're trolling when your opinion is 'Attack of the Clones is a cinematic masterpiece' but you'd definitely have gotten more grace from people here if you hadn't come into the discussion ranting about the disdain you had not just for Andor but for people who like Andor and how the prequels' superiority is an evident truth people will definitely agree with you on someday. Like, if all you'd said was you really love AotC and prefer the more optimistic Star Wars narratives to the darker ones, people would just have disagreed and moved on. But you went on a campaign of telling everyone that they're wrong. In really implausible ways.
  20. Rise of Skywalker being so bad means no, but both of the first two films have a decent argument for being better than any of the PT and both are clearly better than Attack of the Clones. Not yet. That was Ludacris.
