  1. With regards to the aim to kill Ned, I don't see it personally. There was ample opportunity to off Ned before he was in King's Landing, even if they wanted Jaqen specifically to kill Ned while he was there, that does not seem to be a good reason for him to be in the Black Cells. Jaqen could be anywhere else in the city, impersonate one of Ned's guards and so on. Also, as others have said, it doesn't make sense for Varys to want Ned dead at that time. If Varys wanted Ned dead, he probably could have killed him himself, Ned easily could have 'died of his injuries' in the awful conditions in the Black Cells, or Varys could just let Ned be executed as happened since that destabilised the Realm. Though you are right it is a mystery why Jaqen was in those cells or travelling to the Wall in the first place. I am of the view that Jaqen is on a mission to find things to counteract Dragons. I strongly suspect he is looking for the Book 'The Death of Dragons', which I think is located in the Citadel. If so, Jaqen might have been in the Red Keep because the FM initially believed the book or something to do with the book was located there. And he might have been going to the Wall to gather intel/kill Maester Aemon rather than Jon. If he was aiming to kill someone at the Wall, Aemon seems more likely than Jon because more people know or have the ability to know about Aemon. Also, he could have killed Jon before he reached the Wall if that was his aim.
  2. Also whole of Westeros is just inverted GB and Ireland stacked on top of each other. Game of Thrones’ Westeros Is Really Just Britain & An Inverted Ireland – Brilliant Maps
  3. Come on, Scotland does have one actual city (Edinburgh ), beyond the Wall has zero.
  4. Skagos could also be one of the Isles, which were formerly ruled by/vassals of Norway. Can't wait until the Riverlands are finally unified and then everyone else is in trouble.
  5. And she had two people tortured in front of their father to force a confession. Daenerys is acting like a dictator, there is no doubt about it. She even buys into her own cult of personality.
  6. She also already killed her brother, son and husband so...
  7. My dad thinks Kate had an affair with Thomas Kingston and William found out and murdered him.
  8. No proof that it was his ancestors No proof it was murder It's made very clear there is no actual feeding involved or Bran wouldn't have been hungry from lack of food etc. Please follow your own advice Valyrians were simple shepherds prior to discovery of the dragons WTF does this mean? Oops, your bias is showing again 3/10. Some creativity but let down by everything else.
  9. Tyrion's mega thick plot armour has showed no signs of weakening so I am fairly confident he will survive.
  10. Daenerys will turn evil and will have an army of dragons and savages serving her. Only the magic of the Old Gods can defeat them.
  11. I've said this before but if Daenerys wanted to have (relatively) uncontested rule, she should have either totally assimilated into the local culture or done a complete overhaul. She's trying to compromise/get the best of both worlds at the moment which isn't working, because the elites are always going to want to get rid of her so long as she is wanting to get rid of slavery.
  12. Sorry that it was not clear. What I meant was: It is noted that there is a route for traders running eastwards/westwards to Vaes Dothrak: There is no indication this trade route seasonal, that it is blocked during winter by snow/ice etc. So I would assume snow/ice isn't an issue in the Dothraki sea, or at least not an issue to the extent that it hinders trade
  13. Like when Daenerys has some people tortured because she feels angry, right? Do you agree Daenerys should be replaced with a robot?
  14. It's mentioned that there's a big trade route from the Free Cities to Vaes Dothrak so I wouldn't expect it to be snowed/iced over if it hasn't been mentioned as such in the books...
  15. Yeah, my aim is to beat Pol Pot's record. I have a big picture of Daddy Stalin hanging on my wall too. And my favourite colour is red.
  16. The story soon hit a very, very dark note. Viserys Targaryen, spouting silly nonsense like how his family of inbred nutters should get to rule over a whole continent, forces his sister Daenerys to marry a murderous barbarian who has slaughtered countless innocents and comes from a society that can't even build a house. Illyrio, the a$$, starts moaning about how slavery isn't allowed in Westeros. It seems there is no place for even a little respect towards their fellows when it comes to the Targaryens and their supporters. Daenerys would later destroy several cities and she also violates local customs and cultures in her quest for power. Her marriage to the savage culminates in her murdering the by-then mentally disabled Drogo and despoiling his body in a dark ritual to resurrect bioweapons. The rise of Daenerys Targaryen is the beginning of the Darkness and the harbinger of death. Daenerys will bring a world of hurt to the people of Westeros and Essos. Massive outbreaks of dysentery, the collapse of the social order, unclean creatures like Dothraki, religious conflicts, dragons, and such as what nightmares are made of.
  17. While true America did not join (or at least it doesn't seem to have been the main motivating factor) to stop what the Nazis were doing. They joined because they wanted to cut Japan down to size and because they didn't want Soviet hegemony over Europe. If they were so concerned with the moral issue they would have joined the war earlier... In this respect Daenerys is much more sympathetic, because her fight in Slaver's Bay is totally motivated by her moral compass and not her geopolitical interest, desire for power etc. Which is why I think Daenerys should not bother with Westeros aside from beating the Others, and that she should focus on Slaver's Bay to ensure there is a good system to replace slavery so that it doesn't come back.
  18. Well they also said she had 'psychopathic traits' but that is not an official term. When I asked if they thought Cersei had any condition, the answer was no. Apparently she is too violent to be a narcissist, but not violent enough to have antisocial personality disorder. Unlike in the US, I don't think 'psychopath' is an official 'thing' in the UK, but I could be wrong.
  19. Not as much nonsense as this thread. Didn't bother to disguise bias, zero quotes from book, disconnected from the text and reality. 1/10.
  20. Is he in the main series books? Parent has not read Fire and Blood.
  21. I think people might be mistaking characters being shy/stubborn/selfish with them being autistic. You can be all of those things without being autistic. I asked a psychiatrist I know (one of my parents ) and they said that they didn't think any of the characters were autistic, with the possible exception of Stannis. They said that Cersei wasn't mentally ill, just amoral.
  22. Good to know the version of the books available in this universe is better than whatever you're reading.
  23. Great, another really insightful opinion which totally contributes to the rational discussion completely based on the text rather than irrational love/hate relationships with fictitious characters.
  24. That's twenty percent too high. Who is actually voting for them? Do they just really hate Labour?
  25. Dorne, North, Vale, Stormlands, possibly Westerlands. Reach does not have good terrain and probably wants to side with Daenerys, Riverlands are too divided, Crownlands are too small, Iron Islands are too vulnerable to Dragon attack on fleet plus they are so poor why would Daenerys even bother.
