  1. After the Thenns attack Castle Black Donal Noy fosters three Mole Town boys aged 9, 8 and 5. Is this a reflection of the Baratheon boys Robert, Stannis and Renly?
  2. Maybe my memory of later books is rusty, where are we given info that Rickon is on Skaagos? And where was Jon when he had warg dream about shaggy if he was north of The Wall shouldn’t this be impossible?
  3. Rh’llor is on the same team as The Great Other??
  4. Nobles for sure “work”. Trade, I’m sure they collect taxes of some sort(to be passed to the crown after they’ve had their piece), city building, as well as seeing to the day to day matters of their keeps, holds, and realms. And yes ‘war, war never changes.’
  5. Mayhaps, Our friend Petyr met his end off page after betraying the Ned, and…(cue dramatic soapratic reveal music)… is a glamored Howland Reed.
  6. I really like the idea of reconnoitering the Iron Islands as an incognito commoner. As well as being prepared for the skills he would need as @astarkchoice suggested. It would have showed the kind of cunning Asha has. Honestly though, even just dipping back to the Robb and Co. The minute it was apparent that the situation wasn’t going to work out. They have already set him aside as if he were a Stark. Life was better for him in Robb’s shadow. Sure he’d die at the Red Wedding, but it would have been better than ending up Reek.
  7. Loras himself professes that his brother Ser Garlan is better sword fighter. However that could be Loras humbling himself. I believe the Bearded Minstrel said somewhere at some point (another great citing on my part) that there is no best sword, anyone could beat anyone on a given day. But google has him quoted saying Ser Arthur, Ser Jaime, and then Brienne the Beauty, as best. How Sandor isn’t listed is amazing to me.
  8. I don’t see Loras beating The Mountain. He beat him in game, by playing within the rules but clearly was gaming the system. In open battle Ser Gregor could perhaps be unhorsed. However, he would cleave through Loras and his mare on a second pass. Without a true brute like Sandor in the fight Ser Gregor wins any battle.
  9. Somone posted somewhere, can’t remember where(great citing I know), that there could have been a purely overland route through the neck around the start of the trident down to seagard and to oldstones on to riverun. Again topography, the neck is impassable but the reeds should have been friends for our dear friend Robb. I know not the point of the post. But it looks like it’s there on the maps. No road per se but it must be possible.
  10. if I remember correctly the battle that Edmure is so proud of where he “bested Tywin” and sent him back towards Kings Landing, happens while Robb is away in the west; getting injured and married. I double checked the wiki and I think this is the way of it. So Margaery still gets Joff/Tommen. Mayhaps, if Tywin’s host crosses the river and does get pulled into the Young Wolf’s trap. Stannis takes the Iron Throne and Robb no longer needs the Freys, no Red Wedding. So he still can be an oath breaker and live. But this is ASOIAF nobody gets a happy ending.
  11. This is perfect timing. Having just finished reReading GOT I was just pondering Eddard’s options. There was third option for him; take his ship with the girls and as many of his guards as he can on the ship he had readied before the showdown at the brothel, and head to Dragonstone, as he had planned though now he has Robert’s last will and testament. He would have been present at the battle of the Blackwater completely changing the outcome of that battle. He just needed to play the longer game. But the way it happens is actually kind of perfect. The honorable Ned couldn’t see that far into the Game. He really wasn’t made to play the Game of Thrones. Sadly.
  12. Rereading GOT and seems there are two different versions of where Jon Arryn was going to have Sweet Robin fostered. Stannis or Tywin. Who was spreading the rumors? What was the point? Was it like when Tyrion gave multiple destinations for Myrcella, trying to suss out the intelligence leaks? Or just a game of Mereneese Telephone?
  13. Pure Tinfoil: Quaithe must be Varys. Isn’t he described as having watery eyes?
  14. Are the Westerlings still in the Riverlands? Cause I’d like to see Brynden maybe get recruited into Lady Stonheart’s set of BwB, and take the Westerlings in for a Lady Stonheart trial, except for Jeyne(who in my deepest hopes has a lil Young Wolf growing in her belly).
  15. If Howland gets an epilogue POV, wouldn’t he die at the end of it? That’s kind of a sad thought.
  16. Bobby B was born at Storm’s End. Fostered in the Eyrie, lived till the end in King’s Landing. When he thinks of “home”, where does his mind go? note: my first post hope I did ok/put this in the right spot.
