  1. Superflex for this season. No drops from me.
  2. No idea about my roster, I'm afraid. I can make any of those dates work, but prefer 9 or 10.
  3. I'll be in if we're doing this.
  4. Can't see a reason why not, at the moment, for the seventh. That is labor day, of course.
  5. Back for this. If it's happening.
  6. I knew it was going to be that way...but noooooo...I only purchased the first one at this time so I could get other things too...I'm an idiot...
  7. Why did the Sarantine Mosaic have to be two books? Just finished Sailing to Sarantium last night and it built and built, truly the first 150 or so pages seemed like they didn't go anywhere, but by the end, I wasn't ready for it to end...
  8. If people haven't listened to The Gentleman Bastards on audio, well get on it. I truly think my level of appreciation jumped even higher after a good listen.
  9. I'm not certain I'd say it's his best either, but there is something about it that was just sooooo satisfying...at the end, me personally, I felt as fufilled as I did after Lions...there was that touchstone with it that I just didn't get after some of the others...
  10. Not really delved deeply into this topic in the past, though I've read some Saylor. I like the historical crime fiction, so the Davis info above is something I've made note of. Also I got an Ellery Queen Magazine subscription for Christmas, and that started coming finally.
  11. Lions is amazing, but on reflection, knowing I have a few more to read, I think Last Light of the Sun competes with Lions for favorite...
  12. Caught up on the first four issues of the Legion of Superheroes...and I'm...underwhelmed...
  13. Damn it, I wish I could get the gif I want to use embedded on the thread to express my delight in returning home...
  14. I seriously thought the original thread was locked...that's why I started a new one...finding it merged to the old...wow.
  15. A Brightness Long Ago... ...is it weird that I love so many things about this book, but I'm not finding myself drawn in in such a manner that it is taking me more time to finish than I expected...?
  16. Got my hands on Legion of Superheroes #1...and I'm not sold in the Bendis style of writing on this book. I'm a huge Legion partisan, and it's relaunch is another reason I'm back in the comic shop more than once in a blue moon these days, but the first issue wasn't all I hoped for. I'll stick with it for now though...
  17. Cleaning and reorganizing some stuff today and pulled out an old Eternals King Sized Annual...I don't remember how I got it, I know haven't read it in easily 20 years...but the main point is that it was written and drawn by Jack Kirby...
  18. Aw. I've got, I think, Adlard's entire X-Files run...those are some issues I wouldn't mind seeing signatures on... My strangest issue I'm looking to get signed some day, if possible, is a copy of DC's Arion #12 drawn by Jan Duursema. Why? Mainly because it's one of the first two comics I ever got...
  19. You'd think I'd remember reading/collecting around 8 years of Green Lantern...but no... Nostalgia is why I still have them...despite my wife's best efforts! Other than a couple sold for extra travel cash when I moved from Virginia to Wisconsin... Have a few more signed ones I want framed...just haven't had time yet.
  20. Maybe. I'm investigating if I can at least get the boxes better elevated off the floor. It's weird, I don't really want to part with them, but since I've never really catalogued them all, I don't really know everything I have any more. For instance, I know I collected Green Lantern for a stretch there in the 90s, but last night I realized it was for about 80 straight issues. I don't remember that at all...
  21. So...earlier this summer we bought a house. I have a basement/man cave/library set up of my own finally... except for shared space for Little Jax's legos...it's a 90 year old house. There are cracks and spots we're still learning about. Last night we had about 5 hours plus of a steady downfall. We've had rain since moving in, but nothing like this. This morning, we discovered water got in to the basement under the stairs. Of course, that's where I've got a number of long boxes stored. Five have taken some serious water damage, but luckily damn near everything in them are in plastic, and luckily, so far, anything that wasn't in plastic doesn't seem to be impacted as of now. But I've got to replace these boxes...does anyone use plastic long boxes for storage? I've seen some online, but 30 bucks plus seems steep... Anyone?
