  1. Thus taking the piss out of one of TNG's most infamous episodes...
  2. I'm a sucker for even overly idealized, over the top looking 1893 World's Fair stuff.
  3. Back last night. The new voice actors had me not even blinking...though I wonder if there will be a wink and a nod gag about it later... That was...an opening. Almost like Mr. Poopy Butthole was an avatar for Roiland...?
  4. I liked the second episode. I think the show remains strong...having read a couple comments on here before watching about feeling like an episode had been skipped, I wondered if they were showing things out of as part of a larger picture...
  5. I've not looked into it, or verified yet, but apparently her strong republican politics helped create the situation she finds herself in vis a vis her lack of health insurance...
  6. At work tonight...there was a fundraiser for small donors for the Wisconsin Assemblyman for this area. Republican of course. About 35 people. Pretty much everything you'd expect. A greatest hits of "anti-woke" agenda...though Indidnt hear much from a National level being discussed. A saving grace was that, except for a couple attendees the average age was somewhere in the low 70s.
  7. Per my rant against the streaming service model: how are we to know?
  8. Who would have thunk a cartoon with such a "zany" premise could be quite so deep...?
  9. This finale pretty much sums up a lot of everything that is wrong with the streaming model. 8 episodes is simply not in any way conducive to telling a story that wants to have scale, or depth. Complain Baylon Skoll is wasted, but giving him more airtime now means less of another character. I won't say there aren't flaws to the old network model of 22-24 episodes a season, but if there are more stories to tell, then give the show's the time to tell them. I suspect the writing will, of you think it's weak now, tightens up because there's room to give all the characters more time to grow and be written with the time to grow. For instance, the critique of Ezra refusing to take his old lightsaber from Sabine one episode and then straight away building a new one the very next episode. I get it seems strange, but I'd also gotten a sense that something else was at play, that he didn't feel it was his anymore and that's why he wouldn't take it...but whether that was the reason, or it was something else...well more episodes might have allowed for some follow up there that would help explore who Ezra was now after close to a decade in exile... I might not have walked away from this ending of Ahsoka Season 1 feeling quite so unfulfilled of I knew, at the least, that this had just been the first 8 episodes of a split season with 7 or 8 more coming in a couple months... That being said, I liked this show. I did! There is a number of really interesting elements presented. Whether you like the acting or now, there was actual meat to that story...and it felt like it could go somewhere (sequel trilogies be damned...)
  10. I did not recognize the class of the USS Toronto... buy I liked the design... And that was an interesting episode...
  11. Someone had a tweet up earlier today with Liev Schrieber being all bearded and scruffy and looking a lot like Ray...
  12. Seems like that would require a modicum of shame, or self worth, or self esteem, or sense of self respect. No way in hell Kev resigns. He's got that need to be humiliated bad...
  13. Sure this could go into the Baseball thread in Entertainment...but this thread is about THE best things on the internet...
  14. That was a nice read. And fits so well with this thread.
  15. Don't sweat too many spoilers on this one with me. This Nissan the kind of story I stay up to date on discussion with regardless. When it's twisty and complicated, I find I can still enjoy and be surprised even when I'm on to something early...
  16. Resurrecting...heh...this thread as I have finally begun a journey reading the second book...and it's kinda bonkers. Am I going to feel lost the entire time I'm reading...?
  17. Oh I do too. I don't even own an e-reader, and have no desire to. My library is probably at least 70% MMPBs though.
  18. I can't agree with the sentiment enough...I love MMPB books and wish they were still a thing. Oh the bigger, brick-like trades that are more common now are okay, but there is something about the days of picking up a MMPB for 6.99 back in the day and being able to just use a pocket to transport it...
  19. Ezra's lack of desire to reclaim his lightsaber during the skirmish may also play into his connection, or lack there of, to the witches? Maybe he's one with the dark side now and...
  20. Okay. I chuckled some, laughed in a couple spots...but this won't go down as one of my favorite episodes...it was a classic episode format (that may have been part of the joke...?), and T'Lyn is pretty great, but this wasn't a "classic"...
