  1. I hate that new camera angle. Who watched that and was like “This is a good idea!”? When the Celtics are hot, they really do look like a championship caliber team. Unfortunately they need to be more consistent and stitch that together for 4 quarters in a single game. I made a bet with a friend that they’d take Game 3 (but I was expecting Warriors to be up 2-0).
  2. I don’t know how the Warriors got ahead at the end of the 1st with how they played. Celtics looking really scary. Can’t believed this is the same team that played against the Heat.
  3. I started Spin by Robert Charles Wilson. So far interesting sci-fi premise and the first person prose feels fresh to me as I tend to read more “action” or noir novels even within science fiction. This feels like a thoughtful drama instead.
  4. Ok I finished the first episode. That's quite the start. I was glued and giggling throughout a lot of the scenes. Anthony Starr killed it as Homelander. He's really coming into the role.
  5. Yeah, finished Bosch: Legacy last night and was disappointed by the final 2 episodes for what was a relatively solid season. I also abhor cliffhanger season finales.
  6. Yeah, I was scared about the Celtics today. Everyone was picking the Warriors to win and the underdog upset happened. Very impressed with their play but we’ll have to see if they can shoot lights out like that for 3 more games. I wanted the Warriors-Celtics matchup because I thought it would be a competitive matchup. Want to eat those words now but it’s still only Game 1.
  7. While Curry has been amazing, I’m more impressed the Celtics have kept it this close so far.
  8. I thought it was funny that even in a Top Gun 2 movie there was the full screen shot of Tom Cruise running. He didn’t do that in the original or in any of the 80s movies or even the original Mission Impossible movie. Feel like he’s now just always trying to push limits in a scene even when it’s not entirely necessary.
  9. I don't know how I totally missed the "Thank you" message but I did. Was it basically text on the screen or was it actually Cruise on camera thanking the audience?
  10. Oh he's still doing his own stunts. Pretty sure the whole Top Gun cast were inside the actual planes (though not actually doing the flying). In the last Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 trailer, there's a shot of Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff. That's most likely him doing it considering he clipped himself to the outside of a plane that was taking off in one of the previous movies. MI: Dead Reckoning Part 2 appears to be the final film of the Mission Impossible franchise but studios aren't going to stop making Cruise-led action movies especially with Top Gun 2 being his highest-earning movie in his career.
  11. I’m curious when exactly he’ll end his career given he’s been doing action movies for the last couple of decades. At some point he’s going to get too old for the stunts he does but he doesn’t appear to be slowing down at all. I wonder if he’d even be interested in going back to dramatic roles like he did in the 80s or like Jerry Maguire.
  12. Yeah I went to the 7pm Sunday IMAX showing and it was 90-95% full. It was also my second time in theaters since the pandemic started.
  13. Warriors in 6. The playoff experience is key here in my mind and I like Curry and the Warriors in crunchtime 4th quarters should it come to that. Their turnovers have been terrible and I never saw any improvement despite the team (or at least Draymond) acknowledging it. They were sending passes into the seats more than once and I think the Celtics can capitalize on that for a game or 2. I'm very interested to see how Looney + Green play against Horford and Williams.
  14. Just got back from the theater (IMAX) for Top Gun. My adrenaline is still going though I don’t think this compares to Fury Road. Good movie though and glad to catch it in theaters. Fun time all around.
  15. Looks like Beta Ray Bill is making an appearance in Thor based on this trailer. Didn't know that. Wonder how they'll deal with Mjolnir given Jane is wielding it in this movie. Also, I'm really hoping they flesh out Gorr more than Hela.
  16. I feel like Disney is on a roll in churning out all kinds of content. Maybe this is just me re-adjusting to the post-pandemic period. Also, I can't recall when I last saw Willow but I wonder how it holds up in adulthood.
  17. I want to see a camel chase down of running Tom Cruise.
  18. Yeah.. it basically looks like Jason Bourne 17 or Captain America: Winter Soldier 2. And that might be exactly what it is. Hoping the action/fight scenes are at least good enough to make up for a beaten-horse premise. Also, yeah, this trailer doesn't compare at all to the Mission Impossible one that came out yesterday.
  19. Nothing new as far as next summer action movie goes but Russo Brothers, Evans and Gosling should be enough for me to check it out assuming I still have Netflix when this is released.
  20. In addition to Danger Zone, I'm also looking for another rendition of Great Balls of Fire.
  21. Mud? The movie with Matthew McConaughey? Not a bad movie, I'd probably give it a grade of B. I'm astonished that someone would applaud the movie for 18 minutes.
  22. Ok I love this. Edit: Also, Zach Snyder's tweet:
  23. Eh, I haven't watched much TV lately where the love interest gets killed off so I'm not so burned out on the concept. I cannot recall much of what Karen was doing in Season 3 which tells me her storyline was at an end for the writers. I remember Foggy still having some runway (particularly with his supportive wife) and him being more of the reason Matt doesn't become Daredevil full-time. I could probably accept either as a major character death which solidifies Bullseye as being Daredevil's #1 enemy (over the priest which was an inadequate substitute in my opinion) but I feel like Karen was the less interesting character at the end there.
