  1. They're the bully, man. Just stompin' on people, it's not fun to watch.
  2. I actively want the Chiefs to lose so... call it a dry fart?
  3. Yeah, it's uh... pretty fucking dark out there. I don't know how we get out of this one, and that's quite horrible. An entire half of the (voting) public has turned completely against not just the federal government, but seemingly democracy itself. And unfortunately it's the half that's more active and agitated. I think this is about it for America as a republic. Cheers. I'm not optimistic, maybe not exactly sanguine, but I'm simultaneously not shocked and horrified. I have nothing to say to cheer you except that as long as there are elections there's a chance. Unfortunately those elections have been sighted for dissolution already, if not acted against. Trump really intends to go for a third term, and the only thing that will stop him is either mortality or the consequences of his actions being so disasterous that all Dems can win back from him is a smoldering pile of federal rubble. It's a place so dark for democracy that I often struggle to keep in mind at once the totality of the horror. This is a death spiral that ends in one place: the absolute supremacy of force to back one's agenda. America had her day, though. We don't have to forget that.
  4. There will never be another civil war in this country. For one thing, liberals don't have the stomach for rebellion. But more importantly there is no fighting the US military, which will always follow the federal government no matter how corrupt or fascist it gets.
  5. Do it, babe. It's great. I just finished episode 3 and I'm really thinking about watching the next one too, which is pretty rare for me. I don't often watch more than one or two episodes of something a night. Episode 4 introduces Hector and Armistice, both of whom I love. They're on the thumbnail for the episode and I kinda want to get a look at my favorite bandit duo.
  6. Newton is a delight, I love the different ways she delivers her "That voice in my head" lines when they'r messing with her personality. And Tessa Thompson is maybe my favorite actress. I just smile any time I see her, she plays a villain just delightfully and I love her for it. She's like the lady version of James Purefoy, you just enjoy every second she's on screen. And Anthony Hopkins is magnetic in this show, you can tell he's into the story he's a part of and he's such a powerful actor I find myself hanging on to his every word.
  7. Meanwhile, I just started episode 2 of my Westworld rewatch... good God, what a show! Season 1 is perfect television and I adore it. Evan Rachel Wood is so much more than a damsel, it's beautiful. And Jimmi Simpson just fucking smolders.
  8. Oh I haven't seen The Incredibles in like fifteen years. I'mma watch that sometime, blast from the past...
  9. Nice. My copy fell apart at the binding and I had chunks of pages that would slide out of it, but they were still glued to each other at least.
  10. My favorite thing about rereading a book is just spending time in the world, with the characters. I'm less concerned with the plot than I am interested in seeing the author's creation of scenes and circumstances that I find engaging. My favorite chapters of anything aren't the battles or the plot twists and betrayals, but the slow parts where we're just hanging out with the characters seeing how they are as people.
  11. 100% agree, I think they're perfect. The first one came out when I was eight and really kickstarted my love of both books and movies. I read Order of the Pheonix so many times that the book disintigrated in my hands, though Half Blood Prince is my favorite. I was square in the target audience when all of the movies came out and adore them to this day.
  12. Took my sister to see Sonic 3 this afternoon. It was exactly what you think it was. I laughed a few times, so I'll give it that. Meanwhile, I'm watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with my folks before they head home in the morning. What a movie, just charming and made with raw and unadorned love for the magic of the book. All the Harry Potter movies are like that and they're beautiful for it.
  13. I'm not one for conspiracies either, but what's happened to the US over the last twenty years feels exactly like a China or Russia wet dream to me. The internet opened new avenues of antagonism and I don't think Americans ever appreciated the danger of exposing children (and adults) to the machinations of hostile entities through it. Russia I don't think has the tech sophistication to have seriously influenced American deterioration, but China does. And they have an ideology to base a disruption campaign off of. These countries know that they cannot compete with America militarily, but they aren't stupid; I'd bet my life that we don't know a fraction of the internet psyops that China and Russia have deployed against Americans, and unfortunately I don't think the powers that be want to know.
  14. China is the big winner in all this. I suspect they're the ones who put all that money into the Trump Coin. They've all but won the information war and now it's time for the economic conflict as America slips further into self-loathing and self-destruction.
  15. Was going to brunch and I slipped on a stone step and tweaked my hip flexors. I'm getting old.
  16. Call it whatever you want, I see strife where there should be unity.
  17. Oh my! That sounds horrible! Like truly awful. Coffee and orange juice? Ugh!
  18. I love seeing folks who have so much in common tearing each other apart. Just love it.

  20. Splendid And that last post deserved more. Y'all're all lost to great terrible advice. The Ice Cat would see the wisdom in my idiotic ranting.
  21. Well I'm happy. But here's what you're gonna do, slick. As soon as your plane touches down you're gonna go straight from the airport to the nearest sex dungeon store. Inside you'll find either a nice young lady or a middle-aged cougar. You're gonna ask them "what's good for tying up an Ice Cat?" They'll show you to the bondage section, where you're gonna buy some nice restraints and a velvet blindfold. Don't get excited; you're not there for the leather and fancy harnesses, no whips and chains on this trip, just good old-fashioned cotton or nylon rope. Then, you're gonna find a drug dealer and get yourself 50 mg of viagra, three Red Bulls, and a sativa pre-roll. Crush all of that in front of her, with your ropes and blindfold laid out on the coffee table, and say as follows: You've been icy, Cat. Icy and unweildy. But that's over. Starting now, you be the woman and I'll be the man. We're going on a trip, you and me, she and he. A trip to the bedroom, to the bed, and there I'mma ride you like a sled. You're actin' out; talkin' tough and bein' wild, now I'm done with that: you ain't a child. You a woman, I'm a man, I'm gonna give you all I can. Here's the rope, smoke some dope, and let's be over this joke. The safeword is safeword, the plan is at hand; now get on the bed or I'll fuck you where you stand. [100% success guaranteed. Spend the time you got learnin' how to tie a bitch up on Youtube, it's got all that you need] You're welcome.
  22. I heard the Ravens had to massage his reputation to get the deal done.
