  1. Zelenskyy did not grovel to Trump on the 28th Feb. it was the 2nd March when he met the King. so not one day after but 2. It was earlier than planned as a response to Trump's Tantrum.
  2. It should be pointed out that Charles met Zelenskyy earlier than planned and previously arranged the day after the Orange one had a Tantrum and kicked him out of the Whitehouse. So don't be blaming Our King for starting it.
  3. Some could argue Trump also lost his head.
  4. Thanks, I think it will have to be GB news :shudders: but I will have to link to the live site since they don't understand about archive and will assume I've been tricked with a fake site. but thank you for finding it. It will be a great to have something to shut them up about Ulez for a bit. - and it never even effected them since they already had compliant cars.
  5. I wish I could find the same report from a source my In-laws would trust. But I don't like soiling myself by searching the Mail or Torygraph. The Guardian "makes things up" and the BBC is "factually incorrect and very left biased"
  6. I really don't think Putin will be unhappy with anything that comes out of this visit or the deal if a deal actually happens. Its really scary.
  7. Wow, What I'm hearing on the news right now with Zelensky's visit to Trump is just wow. it just sounds really hostile. I can't see anything good coming out of this. or any deal.
  8. I'm also guessing they might be able to re-negotiate the deal with a future non Trump president especially as they may be able to claim the pressure they where put under to agree this deal was in direct violation of the previous Budapest memorandum.
  9. If the worst happens and Trump starts suppling weapons to Russia and lifts it sanctions of Russia. Could Europe with maybe China's help effectively isolate the US stop importing or exporting any/most US goods and services. Effectively putting sanction on the US for suppling weapons to Russia? I know it won't be easy and it would be very hard and would hurt at lot. just wondering if its a feasible option if very undesired. Cos we might have to seriously think about doing it or at least threaten Trump with such things and see if he caves.
  10. pa, just give the Gazans Northern Ireland then their ethnic hatred of the British cos we screwed them over should mean they get on well with the republican Irish natural hate for the British for similar reasons. If not then maybe the Republican Irish and Loyalist Irish might just find themselves on the same side for a change. If its unclear this post contains sarcasm
  11. I have a couple of Fatsia plants in my garden. I don't know if all Castor oil plants could be used, but I'm guessing its a high probability I have all the materials needed at home if I pressed those berries to make oil I would not even need to buy anything else from anywhere. I also have lots of sharp kitchen knives and have even used some today.
  12. I have to completely agree with HoI on this one. Tis a very strange feeling. If I find out he also says Scone as in Cone I'll have to start reading the mail.
  13. I'm not really sure what drought and civil war Syria really is worth so many pages in the UK politics thread. but then Geography was never my strongest subject.
  14. all totally new to me. 30th and 31st we had roast chicken. 1st and 2nd leftover chicken risoto. tomorrow we have fish.
  15. Happy new year. May this quarter be better than the later half of the last quater. unfortuatly I think its gonna start bad and get worse.
  16. The main point as far as I can tell of the Orange marches in Belfast is to piss off the other side and provoke them into starting something so you can have a fight and give all the blame to the others. Oh and also to set some tires and other shit on fire. If you are lucky its only tires and a few cars that get set on fire. Be it the Protestant Marches or the Catholic anti - you should not march though our area protestors. All in all - a very silly business is a very polite way of describing them.
  17. Hope everyone had a wonderful xmas. we did here. now celebrating a more relaxed boxing day.
  18. I have no idea what fills all my time. it just gets filled with stuff. I think working people steal time from retired people. hope you have a fun and restul time off. and I hope its a real time off not time spent marking and making lesson plans ect.
  19. Probably not really the place for this, But My thoughts are with the people of Magenburg. What I'm seeing on the news is horrific.
  20. I just remembered that 10 mins ago. then had similar thoughts about the participation. especially as I've had no time myself. You have no idea just how busy it is being retired.
  21. Merry feastive seasonal greatings in this zombie thread. What is dead may never die, but it sure does a good impression of non life.
  22. I think we can probably all agree that Chemical weapons are bad and ideally no-one should have them. I think we can also agree it was very bad that Assad had them as he used them even if on his own people. But for whatever reason we did not stop Assad from keeping them. Probably cos doing so was rather problematic and would have been costly. Now that Assad is gone there was an opportunity to ensure the new Syrian regime or some other terrorist group gets hold of them. Ideally it would have been nice to do it diplomatically instead of bombing them. especially as I assume this makes disposing of them safer and less polluting. but also because that is more likely to lead to lasting peace. That said I'm not gonna loose too much sleep over them being destroyed with airstrikes, since there was a window of opportunity and I can see it probably was a short time frame. Israel doing the bombing is particularly problematic given current tensions in the region. It should have been done if it had to be done by the international community. Destroying anti aircraft capabilities is not in anyway a defensive act. it is a way to help your side in future further attacks. Destroying most of the Syrian arms including small arms is just gonna make them an easy target for ISIS or other groups and lead to more civil war. Yes I know HTS is a former Al-Queda right now though they are trying to form a legitimate government and talking the talk. They are also the ones for better or worse we have to deal with for the immediate future. It really would have been good to give them a reason to actually become more moderate and not just talk about being moderate. If Israeli felt then needed the buffer zone defended then I can kinda see why they occupied former Iranian positions. they should however immediately reached out to the UN and asked for UN peace keepers to take over while Syria stabilized. Its clear to all especially now this is a Land grab and they will want a new demilitarized buffer zone. Israel has constantly demonstrated that they will use excessive force to go well beyond their stated objectives, while claiming to be the victims. They are not a good actor in this. Its no wonder a lot of people are very uncomfortable with Israel being the ones doing stuff even if they think the end result of chemical weapons no longer available for use is a good thing.
