  1. It's a really bad sign for Trump that Texas is so close. And that is with Biden having trouble motivating Latinos. I mean, without Texas the GOP would become this weird rump party that can't compete at the Presidential level. What if Democrats run Castro down the road, even as demographics change more over the years in the Sun Belt?
  2. Speaking of Meadows, he has doubled down on his remarks that "we are not going to control the pandemic. So the admin has surrendered. What happened to the good old days when the Republicans would call for a very powerful and masculine surge to deal with the situation?
  3. The latest in a long line of people and orgs willing to give up every ounce of dignity and reputation in service to Donald Trump.
  4. I'll start a thread on this just to get it out of U.S. Politics. Is the term sexist? Classist? I'm not an expert on Internet memes and I certainly could have been wrong on the male use of the term, it is just what I had read somewhere. An Atlantic writer used the term btw to describe Donald Trump as the Karen in Chief. I think the main victims of the popularizing of the term are people with the actual name.
  5. Yeah, the Supreme Court could strike with some horrific ruling right when the Democrats are newly out of power for 6 years or whatever. Which is why they have to act while they can.
  6. There is a term for male Karens. A Chad.
  7. I think Obama did just that recently in Florida.

  9. Biden leads slightly in Texas, poll indicates No Democratic presidential candidate has won the state since 1976. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/25/texas-biden-trump-poll-432217
  10. Sure, they want Republicans rebuked. They probably want to recapture their own party, much like George Will and Bill Kristol do. And a true landslide Trump loss is a great way to do that. Still, they know the Supreme Court is about to turbo charge the assault on voting rights. They want their cake and to eat it too, Trump gone and long-term conservative dominance of all economic policies.
  11. They already got their tax cut and they are about to get their 6-3 conservative court. They are quite content to let the Democrats rule for a bit as they know it doesn't matter that much in the long term. They probably assume Democrats don't have the fortitude to make real systemic changes. 13. Netanyahu dodges Trump’s invitation to slam Biden on conference call The Israeli prime minister’s refusal to explicitly criticize the Democratic presidential nominee comes 11 days before the U.S. election. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/23/netanyahu-trump-biden-call-431737
  14. Not if it's a gay wedding cake and Amy Barrett has anything to say about it.
  15. Yeah, Trump really needed to seriously address Covid and failed to do that, likely a huge mistake. It comes down to him promising us more of the "winning" if he is re=elected. Other than that, Trump needed a big Biden screw-up and that didn't happen. Biden needed a tie and he probably got better than that.
  16. OK, I'm ready to swallow the bleach cure now, thanks.
  17. Most Presidents Who Lose Deal With Shame. Trump Could Have To Deal With Prison. Winning a second term could put him beyond the reach of many of the possible charges, thanks to statutes of limitations that would run out. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-loss-prison-statutes-of-limitations_n_5f8f5353c5b62333b23ff0a0
  18. Judge blasts DeVos’ sweeping denials of student loan relief claims as ‘disturbingly Kafkaesque’ The judge ruled that DeVos had undermined the deal by denying large swaths of the claims without sufficient explanation. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/20/judge-blasts-devos-student-loan-relief-430341 A federal judge scrapped a settlement Tuesday over the Trump administration’s slow processing of loan forgiveness for borrowers who have accused their colleges of fraud, ruling that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos undermined the deal.
  19. Heavy turnout in King County WA most definitely. Just dropped my ballot off at the public library as I have done since the state went mail voting. I usually park and walk it up to the box. I couldn't this time as cars were lining up and I was forced to do the same.
  20. Yeah, people are definitely tired hearing from all these idiots who got it wrong, like Trump and DeSantis. 21. Got my ballot. Sounds like Washington's early voting numbers on the opening weekend are through the roof.
  22. Really surprised at the lack of tightening. Also, looks like Biden is likely to pick up some electoral votes in Nebraska.
  23. Trump obviously saw David Simon's Show Me a Hero and thought this would be a great racist election ploy.
