  1. Finished watching S2 today and then just watched those VNN clips. They were fantastic! Have enjoyed the show and look forward to being able to watch Season 3 at the same time as the rest of the world.
  2. Two Abercrombie threads, a Malazan, and a Bakker all on the front page!!! Im so pumped! Making Westeros.org Literature page great again!
  3. This may be the second episode I've ever watched of AEW Dynamite (the first had Shaq go through a table!)it has opened with a heckuva match between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega. Half hour in and I really wonder how they are going to fit in a the other matches they've been promoting for the show!
  4. My copy came in the mail today. Looking forward to getting going with it tonight.
  5. I was reading an article a few weeks ago that said WWE value had gone up quite a bit during the Pandemic and the deal with NBC for Peacock. At the same time, they are dumping high salary talent. If this was any other industry, it would be pretty obvious that the company was being positioned to sell. I can’t picture Vince ever selling his baby, but it’s hard to deny the appearance.
  6. Everything I've read says that the PPV was one of the best by any company in years. Its a shame... right as I get WWE Network/Peacock to get PPVs for free, the best ones cost $50 again! Maybe this is for the best, a repeat of the mid 90's Monday Night Wars would be a good thing for WWE if it means they can get their act together and be creative again.
  7. That Goldberg match was worse than I feared… and the bad part is, they are obviously setting up for a further storyline.
  8. Wasn’t expecting Becky Lynch to come back and win in seconds. Wonder what happened with Sasha that she wasn’t out there for that?
  9. I don't know if I remember seeing it announced anywhere, but I saw Mark Lawrence discussing the cover design for the next book which is titled "The Girl and the Moon."
  10. Wondered the same. Also curious about the guy with the Sunday Ticket. Are they just channels in that app?
  11. Went down a bit of a rabbit hole over on the sub-Reddit for streaming. A guy in there mentioned that he had something called a Superbox. He said he gets all kinds of streaming services free on that including Sunday Ticket and other major sports streaming services. He linked this page on ebay. In that listing, there was a link to the homepage for the device Superbox USA I'm honestly confused right now... I replied back to the guy and he said again that he has all those services for free. The device itself looks like a generic Roku and the website is certainly not something that I would call "elaborate." This thing can't be legit... can it?!!?
  12. I just finished the fourth omnibus and REALLY enjoyed the conclusion. Makes the third omnibus worth reading in retrospect. And with that conclusion, I have zero desire to read any possible future book. The series is done.
  13. I would tend to agree. It’s fair at best. I’m slow getting into the fourth omnibus. Murgen as a narrator was actually decent. And I would say that I was mostly okay with the two collected volumes… however, had I been reading the two books individually; I would have been pissed at the ending of the first book since it really left almost nothing accomplished. On the subject of not aging well, there was a lot of modern (for the time) slang that I recall well from my high school days in the mid 90s that was definitely out of place. I’m sure it was distracting in the 90s and even more so now… but I can only take One Eye referring to ramming something “up the poop chute” so many times. I don’t regret reading it and do look forward to taking time with the fourth one, but it was definitely a step down.
  14. I’ve recently been reading the Black Company omnibuses. Kinda makes me want to reread the Malazan books.
  15. Okay, I’ve now read Dispel Illusion. Shit, that was another good series. I regret waiting to read it. Since this topic title does say there are spoilers for all books, I won’t spoiler there next bit; but anyone not having read Impossible Times Trilogy may want to skip. First off... loved how he handled time travel. The time trails they leave was an interesting concept. One thing that had me thinking about from the first time we saw Halligan traveling was Taproot in the RQW trilogy. We know that in that book he explains that he freezes himself periodically. When Jalan finds him, the description I remember really feels similar to the time travelers being frozen in place. And the forward time travel is described as essentially a more effective cryogenics. I almost wonder if Taproot doesn’t so much as “freeze” himself as he travels forward in time periodically? At the end in the big reveal, I do wonder why they needed to wipe Mia and Nick’s memory though. The other four (Simon, John, Elton, and Elton’s dad) all get by on a promise. They didn’t wipe their memory. I understand that Nick and Mia have to forget... but they are going to wipe out the last two weeks entirely in just a few hours. Why the necessity to wipe it twice? As I said, loved it. Mark is a great writer and I love how the entire thing is now tied together.
  16. Dammit... this thread has me distracted even when reading random sports tweets... The Logos is the beginning and the end!
  17. I think this is why the last two books were a bit of a disappointment around here. There was so much read into nuances that weren’t actually there.
  18. That cave sequence in book three really was some of the best in the series though.
  19. I’m just glad HITB got three mentions already! I will reiterate that going on the journey of the second trilogy is certainly the slog of slogs!!! However, the highs of that series are truly worth the price of admission. To the coffers boys!!!
  20. I just read One Word Kill. That was a really good, quick read. I’m sorry I waited so long to read it.
  21. Yeah, I had said somewhere in this thread (I think) that I wondered if we could see Jorg as a data echo, but to suggest he was reincarnated and now is a central figure is definitely a step beyond that!
  22. We don't "need" to. And a significant minority like you probably will be diligent in turning on/off subscriptions as needed. But... the reality is, gym's don't make money on the members that come regularly. They make money on the people who pay their membership feels, but don't come. Its the truth for all subscription based profit models.
