Watch, Watched, Watching: We’re Not (Thread)Worthy!

I think part was Elliots' character, just didn't like him or the cartoonish gunslinger. Also, Loretta suddenly being the leader of the county and respected, just seemed so out of place. I did love the ending though, one of the best endings to a series ever. -

WTH. I forgot the one actually good movie I watched. Sinners, I finally got around to seeing this. It felt a little slow but then it just seemed that's the style and I ended up liking that. One of the reasons I stayed away in theaters was the music aspect, someone described it as a vampire musical and I couldn't get that out of my head, now I wish I had seen it on the big screen. Very good movie. Poor Cornbread, dude just had to pee! -
Saw the trailer for Superman and it didn't look good at all. The Runningman however looked pretty good. Had a new thing happen. Went to theater to see Jurassic the other day and after the previews seemed to end, the lights went out and then another preview started, for a movie coming in 2026! The Odyssey... It's a year out and they are pulling special tricks and showing a bit of a trailer already.

I recently(within a year) watched Person of Interest and The Blacklist. I barely made it through POI and still haven't gotten halfway through Blacklist. I want to try a new one but hate the commitment. I'm someone who will normally watch a series to the end even when it goes downhill so I don't wanna start a long series if it all falls to crap. -

Saw a few movies over the last week, very high temps and some time off. F1, if you go into it expecting it to be anything other than what it is you'll be disappointed. It's a fun movie about driving fast w real footage, light easy story, nothing more. It was fine, won't watch it again but I was glad to see it on the big screen much like the next one. Jurassic whatever. I don't think I even watched the last two movies at all, but this one made me want to see it. Again, it's ok for what it is. The original was so good that I keep getting sucked in to these hoping for a little of that. I'm cured now. Memento. Older movie that I thought I had seen before but didn't. I'm not a fan of this type of story telling, and this whole thing is flash backs in a sense. It did keep me engaged but I definitely have no interest in seeing it again. I think Seinfeld pulled this off better in "The Betrayal" S9 Ep8 three years earlier. Heads of State on Prime. Buddy film w US President and England PM team up. Pretty dumb action movie and I knew it going in, was tired of scrolling past stuff and this kept popping up. Kept me mostly entertained. The Long Game. Movie set in Texas after WW2. Tells the story of a HS golf team made up of Mexican Americans and their struggles. Not a bad movie but just felt dull. G20. Another action flick, I guess I was on a kick. Also pretty bad. Pretty crappy list of movies I have to say. Also finished a rewatch of Justified. Still struggle a little w the last two seasons. Gonna either start a new (new to me) series or rewatch one. Prison Break, Six Feet Under are a couple I'm thinking of trying, heard good things about both. Or, a rewatch of Breaking Bad, The Sopranos or The Wire. -

I plan to see it over the next week, also only due to Pitt as I have very little interest otherwise. Loud, slick popcorn flick -

I just got caught up on this and can't decide if its any good. I get a little laugh every once in a while but that's really it. I don't like any characters outside of the bot and the captain so that doesn't help. -

I watched Dept Q this weekend and really enjoyed it. It took me a good 5 - 7 episodes to mostly figure it out and even then I wasn't 100% sure. I liked most of the actors and characters. As to the bolded line they did show us some stuff, maybe they were trying to not make him stand out too much? -

I also rewatched it again recently and thought the same things. It has the makings of a really good movie but just doesn't hit it. -

ESB, Rogue 1, ROTJ also go here The rest have a theme to change up the thread The Matrix, John Wick, Speed Goodfellas, The Godfather, Casino, Scarface Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, Predator Avengers series, Iron Man, Spiderman No Way Home(I'm a Spidey guy and this brought together the three of them) The Dark Knight Aliens, Alien, The Thing Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, The Patriot First Blood, Rocky Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Identity, Saving Private Ryan Beverly Hills Cop, American Pie, Happy Gilmore, Caddyshack ending the list because I have a hard time stopping

Watched Black Bag on Peacock. Spy movie set in England. Good cast. The movie was relatively short at around 90 min. It is a decent spy movie, does well developing characters considering the short amount of time it has. If Faster Horses did an episode this long it would probably be better if I'm being honest. -

Watching R1 on it's own, I'd say no because Jyn feels like weak character in it, IMO. Saul seems comically over done. Cassian came across as too ruthless. At least that's what I remember when watching it when it came out. Sidenote, I did pay to see it two times, was so happy it was nothing like the prequels. Watching it after watching Andor and now Cassians' actions(killing the informant) make sense, and too a lesser extant Saul is less comical, but Jyn is still pretty weak and it stands out more since you find yourself wanting Cassian to step up more. Maybe I give the nod to ANH and ESB more out of nostalgia but I can't put this above them. -
I personally thought half of the last episode was absolutely horrible. I think Ramsey did great with the acting part but the things they did in the last 3 episodes just kind of ruined the season for me. I know this is probably just me, but a person who has, from what we know, never even SEEN a boat before somehow knows how to start it, operate it, navigate several miles across open water with what looks like 10' waves is just ridiculous. IDK there were just too many dumb decisions/plots for me. Like, why was the other guy not at the place they were suppose to meet, why was he several blocks away and not there protecting his pregnant injured ex? Well because plot .... otherwise they all just leave. I get it but find a way to do it that makes more sense.

Isn't this the Andor thread and isn't there a specific thread open already for the last couple pages of posts?

I also watched the new Mission Impossible and have the same reaction. Visually great but generic and insufferably long, I was shifting in my seat the last hour of the movie. Something that made no sense at all... Also, hopefully this is the last time we have to watch Tom run really fast. He had to get to a certain place fast, and rather than steal a car or bike he runs, for like a mile it seems... I guess it's something we have to see every MI movie. @Veltigar as to Rogue 1, IMO, it is by far the best new movie, I rank it above Return of the Jedi. For me it's ANH, ESB, Rogue 1 then ROTJ. If it re releases at the theater you should go see it on as big of a screen as you can. Now after watching Andor it adds so much to it. You almost wish Jyn was much less of a character because of what you see from Cassian in Andor. -

Survivor wrapped up another season. Most of the season was boring in my and most peoples opinion but the finale wrapped it up pretty well and made the season more tolerable. IMO the correct person won so that always helps. -
IMO Andor was damn near perfect (compared to the child and toy driven crap we had been getting) and a great lead in to R1. Let it and all the characters die a peaceful death. Don't parade what could be a lesser version of them around just to try to get another hit. Find another lesser or completely unknown group to develop. I liked what someone upstream said about some character who had control of a decrepit Destroyer. Maybe using it to smuggle stuff, and maybe the owner is force sensitive but not trained and not very good? Just let us enjoy the Andor characters and don't whore them out.

So if that one particular spot wasn't the critical point then why the heck wouldn't they go attack any one of the other spots in the honeycomb network that were unprotected? Why suffer a lot of losses at the one where the destroyers are parked?

Agree, the terms steal and reach are nothing more than a relation to mock drafts. They have to justify their rankings to get clicks and eye balls. You never really know until a few years later who drafted well. It was damn near unanimous that Detroit drafted poorly in 2023. Then come late 2024 and the players from that draft are leading the team suddenly it was shrewd talent scouting and "team fit". -

Watched The Agency over the weekend. It was pretty good, had some really good stuff but also some weak moments. Richard Gere is in it and does his usual Gere mannerisms. All in all it's a good series and set itself up for a second season. -
It was a good episode but felt totally out of order. Hear me out. They had a trip to Seattle, that could have been the episode where they showed all of these flashbacks. Joel scene, then Ellie on her horseback trip, rinse and repeat. Instead we finally get an episode where Ellie gets some revenge and it's followed by a flashback episode, which is going to be followed by the season finale? Maybe it's just me but that episode broke the tension and lead up to the final episode.

The shield was down and the characters said so. They couldn't send the plans with the shield up. Once the two ships collided into the ring, it stopped generating the field.

Perfectly nerded reply to what wasn't a question but simply a statement that a ton of recipes call for. Thank you for letting me know the rest of my recipe was correct though!
