SerDerrick
Are there any specific customs in the world of Westeros with regards to newborns? Other than just giving birth under those Weirwood trees, like Cersei did with her children? I'm curious as want to do some interesting things for my baby, that's all. Note I've only read up to A Feast for Crows where the Iron Men have arrived for their Kingsmoot.
The Wolves
Cersei didn't give birth to her children under any weirwood trees. And the Wildlings don't name their newborns until they are 2yrs old because they consider it bad luck.
Batbob45
What do you think are custom for baby for fathers like Stannis, Tywin,, Robert, and Doran
Rodrik of Dorne
Know nothing about Stannis, Tywin or Doran, but Robert had his own tradition of going hunting whenever Cersei was about to pop out another Lannister.

To avoid actually having to be present at the birthing bed ;) Further, there don't really seem to be any costums.

Jon's Queen Consort
To avoid actually having to be present at the birthing bed ;) Because the men are bound to be present at the childbirth, I mean in the delivery room during childbirth?
Rhaenys_Targaryen
Because the men are bound to be present at the childbirth, I mean in the delivery room during childbirth? No, no, of course not :)But for as far as I know, when a man doesn't want to be present in the birthing room, he goes to another part of the building at least somewhere relatively closeby. Robert actually fled the city, travelled to the woods and stayed away for days.So Robert really tries to get far away from it all, far away from what he most likely regards as the most unpleasant part. Kill Cersei and made it look like an accident.
Batbob45
Stannis seem like someone that would be there at the birth of his kid and smile.
The Lady Lannister
I seem to remember that Jaime was present at the birth of his children.
SerDerrick
That's what I remember too. I thought that Cersei and Jamie went with the Maesters to give birth in the Kingswood...but I obviously remembered wrong about the Weirwood tree...
