Even if they did have bias, why do you care? I am generally perplexed by why you can't seem to stand the fact that other people like a character you don't like. Makes no sense to me.

I don't care if people like her, but I don't like people praising them for crap which they haven't shown. I don't praise Stannis. I like him, yes, but I don't go round saying he's the best King in the world blah blah blah, because I know he has made alot of mistakes as well.

Other than Davos reminding Stannis of his duty the advisers don't have a huge significance in his place. The biggest help he's received is from Mel and the blood magic. Stannis crushed the Greyjoy fleet and dismantled the Wildlings by most, if not all his own doings. Dany needs advisers in conquering, Stannis does not.

Didn't Jon convince Stannis not to attack the Dreadfort? Seems to me like Stannis is in much better shape now with all of the allies he gained after freeing Deepwood Motte.

You might as well say Patchface is similar as well.

I might even admit I'm one of those weird Stannaerys shippers ;) :leaving:

My biggest wish would be seriously them meeting and not trying to kill each other, but learning form each other. They both could learn so much from the other!

Of course, later they'd marry and rule together, and spend their days with having awkward sex and arguing, screaming all the time "I'll take back what is mine with Fire and Blood!" and "The throne is mine by right, they'll bend the knee or I'll destroy them!"

Just going on the show so far. Sure, Jon is very useful in the books as well. Though Jon and the Nights Watch wouldn't be alive without Stannis, would they?

I agree and this is the irony of the Dany fans and Stannis fans always sniping each other. Personally I like both characters.

I've found the issues comes from very specific subsets of fans of both that can't see any flaws in their respective favorites. I'm a Stannis and all of Team Dragonstone fan (even Selyse and Patchface). However, I appreciate Stannis for all of deeply flawed and human traits he possesses. I like Dany for similar reasons.

Well hey, Baratheon and Targ are historically BFFs (well let's not talk about the whole Laughing Storm rebellion thing or Robert).

Except as others have pointed out they have shown that. She did conquer the 3 cities in slavers bay (no so much Yunkai as she just got them to free the slaves).

Another thing Dany and Stannis have in common. They'd both be sunk without their fantastic advisors.

This. And they can both take advice very well from advisors of varying backgrounds (ex-slaves, lowborn folks etc.)

And they both have non-traditional advisors: exiled knight, former Kingsguard commander, freed slaves for Dany, ex-smuggler turned knight, foreign former slave turned priestess, and Ned Stark's bastard etc.

Well considering he's got to where he is thanks to the advise and actions of his advisors I'd say they are pretty good. No one would claim anyone is perfect in ASOIAF--including advisors. Dany, Stannis, and their advisors are some of the most fascinating and most flawed.

:agree: :agree: :agree: so much with all that above!

PR would be a good start along with generally acting less like a douche bag and to try and understand the plight of the common folk better.

You need a hard man with iron bound will, not someone who is controlled by their emotions. I don't see how Stannis is a ''douche bag''.

Alright not douche bag let's go with Petty Entitled Jackhole. ;) I'd say both Dany and Stannis possess traits that are good for ruling and some that aren't.

Seeing as Stannis ruled in good stability with Jon Arryn for years, I beg to differ. Sure the realm was in the shit for money because of Robbert and LF, but still it was stable. His justice is pure. He knows when people must die e.g Balon Greyjoy who rises again for a soft punishment by Robert. He also no matter how much hate for a party always recognize people and what they were e.g Saying Jaime is a Knight, praising Robb Starks bravery, commending Ned for being honorable. You want a stable environment and Dany never holds that when ruling Meereen. The thing I don't like about Stannis is he gets far too focused on his rights and this that and the other. In terms of ruling though, I see Stannis being the only acceptable candidate.

Uh oh. You're one of the terrible heretics that sees more similarities than differences between Dany and Stannis aren't you? I'll climb on the pyre next to you. ;)

And I'll gladly climb on that pyre too because I like Stannis and Dany. Whatever it takes to make people realized that if you like one character doesn't necessarily means you have to hate the other one.
