Stan Man
Is anyone into historical fiction? I've heard Cold Mountain is an excellent read; before I get to that, though, I'm reading Thirteen Moons for a second time. It's an excellent book, focusing on the American frontier during the purging of Native American Cherokees from their homeland. The writing is simply gorgeous. It's definitely a romanticization of the frontier - it mentions slaves and slavery, but never in a bad light (which is consistent with what the narrator would likely think). It can be a slow read at time, but the romance is well-put and the action is minimal but dire. Don't know if anyone on this forum has ever read Charles Frazier! :)
Ser Scot A Ellison
I love Thirteen Moons. Charles Fraizer could write the phone book and I'd probably read it.
Calibandar
I first learned about him after I really liked the Cold Mountain film a lot. There is something about that film that's really stayed with me.I've never picked up Cold Mountain, I assumed I knew the story. But I have since picked up Thirteen Moon and his last book as well, Night Woods or something like that.Haven't started yet on either though.
