Original Poll Results:1. Rise of House Nymeros Martell, begining with Nymeria's arrival - 02. Aegon's conquest - 03. Rise, rule, fall of Maegor the Cruel - 04. The Dance of Dragons - 35. Daeron's conquest of Dorne - 16. Reign of Aegon the Unworthy - 17. The Blackfire Rebellion(s) - 18. War of the Ninepenny Kings - 0 <original post>Imagine that after completing ASOIAF, GRRM announces he will be writing ONE prequel covering a specific era of Westeros history. Which of these would you most like to see play out in detail? The conditions are that the book must take place (mostly) in Westeros and must be after the Andal invasion*. I have left out some eras that were relatively peaceful/drama-free.1. Rise of House Nymeros Martell, begining with Nymeria's arrival2. Aegon's conquest3. Rise, rule, fall of Maegor the Cruel4. The Dance of Dragons5. Daeron's conquest of Dorne6. Reign of Aegon the Unworthy7. The Blackfire Rebellion(s)8. War of the Ninepenny Kings Please feel free to name event/eras you would like to see that I have left out. *I have chosen to rule out very early events such as the Age of Heroes because I feel that, as legends, their details will always be mysterious and often disputed and should stay that way.Edit: Several people have pointed out that The Dance of Dragons will be covered in the forthcoming Fire and Blood, so I will tally the results with and without it. Feel free to vote a second time if you intially voted for The Dance of Dragons.Regarding The Blackfire Rebellion(s) being covered by Dunk and Egg, I am still going to include it in the poll because there could be another novel with additional POVs. The Onion Kniggit
Dance of the Dragons and the Bobellion. Those are what I feel to be two of the most controversial time periods in Westeros.
Lady Blizzardborn
He's already doing a complete history of the Targaryens so you can cross all of them off the list most likely, including the Blackfyre rebellions. Robert's Rebellion (which may also be covered in Fire and Blood) would be my pick. Or anything prior to Aegon's invasion. Leaving out the Age of Heroes cuts a lot of good stuff. I'd like the truth behind some of those legends.
Smoother Than a Storm
I would like to see the Dance of Dragons, especially the rivalry between the Princess and the Queen.

ThinMintMafia
Are we talking full on multiple POV's type thing? If so then first choice is Dance of the Dragons to know what was going through Daemon's mind, second the Ninepenny War because there were so many colourful characters involved, and third would be Daeron's conquest of Dorne just because it seems like it would make a good one off story. Smoother Than a Storm
the blackfyre rebelions, or unlist some of them are being covered by Dunk and Egg. I admit I haven't read any Dunk and Egg, but they only provide one POV, right? I am imagining novels done in the style of ASOIAF, with many POVs. Fat Mac
I'd like a prequel on the whole Westerlands situation at the time Tywin wiped out the Reynes and Tarbecks. Sure the World Book covered a lot of it, but it'd be neat to see a young Tywin and his siblings, as well as the Reynes and Ellyn Tarbeck.

Good Guy Garlan
the blackfyre rebelions, or unlist some of them are being covered by Dunk and Egg.Yeah, I think D&E have the Blackfyres covered. Or I hope so at least. So I think I'll go with Daeron's Conquest of Dorne just because it was a hilarious failure for the Targs.

Yes, it would be very interesting to see Tywin and Aerys when they were friends, before things went sour.

Raven Tooth
I would love to see a story penned by Mushroom. Would be highly entertaining. I think it's too much to hope for something from Septon Barth but that would also be awesome.
The Onion Kniggit
The reign of Aegon the Unworthy. The amount of gluttony, lust and hedonism that entails would make Satan barf. Sorry!!! I keep double posting. Sorry everyone! It happens :P One thing you should know and get use to is the horrible server connections on this forum. Definitely the worst in my experience with many forums I've been too.

The Onion Kniggit
I mainly just want to know more about Bloodraven, Bittersteel, Daemon and co. A prequel on the Blackfyre rebellion would be more suitable then. Perhaps with flashbacks of back when Fat Egg was still around sowing the seeds of the war. Smoother Than a Storm
Raven Tooth: I just learned about Mushroom yesterday! It would be awesome to read "The Testimony of Mushroom." It would be even cooler if we had the Septon's writings to compare it to! The amount of gluttony, lust and hedonism that entails would make Satan barf. That's why it gets my vote, after The Dance of Dragons. :) It happens :P One thing you should know and get use to is the horrible server connections on this forum.
