Siding with the Night King

To be honest, in the books there is no indication whatsoever than the Others are invading Westeros. They were clearly attacking wildlings and the Watch at their side of the wall, but, so far, the plan to attack the Wall is just in Jon and others´ minds and based on old legends.

Even in the show, the only thing we have is the Walkers attacking everyone north of the Wall and Jon and other people guessing their plans based on past history/legends. They haven't made a move on the Wall. Bran hasn't seen the army marching south of the Wall, or, if he has, he hasn't told anyone. The Hound's vision looked like it could be a battle south of the Wall, but he turned out to be seeing the wight hunt north of the Wall.

All that being said, it's hardly a wild random guess by Jon and the others. The legends had the Others/Walkers fighting at least down to the Trident, and humanity having to ally with the Children in a desperate fight against them to survive, not to mention the parallel legends across Essos. Whether their goal is to kill all humans, conquer Westeros, reach the Isle of Faces and cast some ritual spell there, or collect enough of those red beads they make down in the Reach to make a necklace out of them, if they do it by marching south and killing everyone in the way, the result isn't much different.

Unless there's a possibility of a negotiated settlement, of course, in which case it will be pretty important to know what the other side wants. But I think if that's how the story ends, it will be either information they get from the Walkers themselves or something Bran tells them, not figuring it out from clues they should already have seen.

Quite reasonable. What if He just want to go to King´s Landing for tourism?

Well, I for one an capable of going to, say, Thuringia for tourism without feeling the need to march an army of hundreds of thousands in front of me. But I'm sure other perfectly reasonable people would disagree with me. Like Napoleon. (I think my vacation was more fun than his, but that may just be because I didn't try to extend it with a trip to Smolensk without proper planning.) So, who am I to judge the NK on his vacation plans?

People have been complaining about the NK moving too slowly, but that's exactly what makes him such a loveable underdog. Unlike all the other characters, who seem to have unlocked teleportation technology, poor NK is forced to still leg it everywhere. This puts him at a distinct disadvantage, yet he keeps on keeping on.

I don't think he's a communist or a socialist. He's a left-anarchist, who in our world would be writing essays on c4ss.org explaining why once we tear down all the walls and all the governments the free market will bring equality to all without any lords or corporations or any other non-local forces being able to reestablish a foothold.

But he's run into the same problem as the Bolsheviks anyway—the idea of a vanguard of the people (his White Walkers and himself) clearing the way and then vanishing sounds nice, but it isn't actually going to work. In fact, it's even worse for him, because if his vanguard really does wither away, all of the wights die. So, even if he can navigate past the Thermidorian reaction and the Napoleonic threat in a way that Lenin failed to figure out, he's still got state power that he can't dismiss, and that's ultimately going to lead to the same result.

See, it's not a false equivalency - he's definitely left leaning :)

It's still a false equivalency.

If I said Cersei is just like Angela Merkel because they're both right-leaning, I think any Merkel fans out there would quickly point out that she has, or would be expected to, come out strongly against most of the things Cersei has done. Trying to denigrate Merkel by comparing her to a Lannisterite would be unfair, and trying to denigrate the Night King by comparing him to a communist is a false equivalency.

And on the other side, if Boris Johnson claimed he was just like Cersei to get his face in the news again, or if a retro-Stalinist wanted to claim the Night King as a communist to make his party relevant again, again, false equivalency.

Although, now that I think about it… I think Cersei's haircut would work better on Boris than what he's currently got. I'm not sure what that means about the Night King, though.

Thank you for your kind feed back. And don´t forget to praise the Night King, Rightful Lord of the Seven Kingdoms Beyond the Wall.

Har!! He did look bad ass on the ice dragon.

Well, the Night King's army is indeed the leftist's wet dream: No difference whatsoever between races, sexes, cultures, ..., but only one uniform mass. He probably controls them by selling them "HuffRaven" and "Wightuardian".
