Goodkind XXXV: Ayn't Life Rand?

The Wolf Maid

You lying and wicked Lemmings! You told me that Tairy's Randiteness did not manifest until mid-series. But I give you this passage from tonight's reading pleasure known as Wizard's First Rule.

But choosing to believe us you chose death, therefor it is you who are wicked.

You see, he was appealing to Yeardites and Randites very early in the process. I cannot imagine what horrors await me if I continue to read this series.

It's true. The speechifying, I think, is very limited early on, but even in WFR there are lots of strawmen set up to bash socialism and collectivism and such. For example, there's a mostly incomprehensible scene where the queen of whatever country Rachel is in is holding a banquet. There's a bunch of blather about helping the poor and altruism, and then everyone laughs about how the poor are all starving to death. Supposedly to illustrate the hypocrisy of socialists. Or something. Big WTF moment.

Yeah, the poor poor people (that's punny... heh...)

The scene goes more like this:

Queen: You are selfish for having food.

Peasant: You take all of my food! I'm starving!

Queen: You are selfish for starving. We should kill you.

Peasant: GAH! :headoffsmileythatshouldbeintheforums:

I was thinking about this last night, and I'm not actually sure why Tairy's so down on beggars and scroungers. After all, they're looking after their own interests just as much as any good Objectivist; doing the minimal work for the maximum reward, and giving nothing back to society. Maybe it really is just the people who GIVE stuff that he hates, rather than the ones who TAKE it. He must be a real joy to have over for Christmas.

"You bought me a present? You shouldn't have. No really, you shouldn't have, you fucking Commie death-chooser" *burns house down*

Tairy doesn't even understand the things he argues against.

There is no argument with Tairy, he is right because he choses life and knows about the moral celery of existence. He can make a goat noble because the goat knows that commies are evil. He knows about a chicken who is not a chicken meaning instead of people eating him he eats people, showing that all vegetarians are evil because they choses death and nonviolence. Just like those people that were living in that non magic kingdom. You know that a cow or chicken would eat you if given half the chance. How can anybody argue that. :/

if this is true, then we must exterminate cows and chickens, we cannot permit an entity that wishes us death the right to exist, or we will face certain demise in the future. threats to our basic right to exist must destroyed utterly, failure to do so shows weakness, and invites ever more entities to harm you.

This brings up an interesting point. Cows and chickens and goats, noble/evil as they may be, are essentially slaves to the gastrointestinal needs of humanity. Therefore: Would enslaving the terrorists to our will (whether through the Mailed Fist of America, or other more arcane devices) also be an appropriate response, in Tairy's mind? Or does he see their total annihilation as our only option?

If these evil not chickens, cows, and their supporters repented Tairy would be ok with them living as long as they did what they did before for his side. Ones that did not fall to their knees and repented would and should be totally exterminated and have their fields salted.

Part of the repentance would be doing the head banging fealty to the yeard. That would show complete repentance and that they would make up for their past misdeeds.

 Father Tairy guide us and lead us. Show us the proper way to gain moral celery

Here's a question: If you could snap your fingers and be the author of the SoT series, and you would have all the fame and riches that TG has received, would it be worth it? I mean, you'd have an amazing house and everything but you'd have to explain "yes, I did write that."

I like to think I could withstand the derision of a few internet nerds. I would just go with it, and do what tairy does, saying the craziest shit I could think of.

why the hell not, I always wanted to be an author :smoking:

Oh God!

I just got messaged on Myspace by a guy who's apparently a big fan of the Yeard. Normally, I just ignore all the illiterates and creepy older guys who just want to get in my pants (especially when they tell me I should do gay porn), but this is a chance for evangelism that I just couldn't pass up.

I'm going to have fun with this. I'll keep you guys updated as the story develops.
