She's almost 20, but I think she looks youthful enough. Might be too deep into the film world now, though.

I can see her as Sansa. Nice suggestion.

The immediate Stark Family. Some new suggestions, some 'seconding's. Just felt we were heavy on the Ned's, Robb's, and Jon's. Wanted to point out some choices for other roles.

Jim Cavaziel as Eddard Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001029/
http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1804578215/photo/241134

Matthew Macfadyen as Eddard Stark
http://www.mediastorehouse.com/pictures_56...-MacFadyen.html
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0532193/

Kelly Macdonald as Catelyn Tully Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0531808/
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/20...talksroadmovies

Finn Wittrock for Robb Stark
http://shakespearetheatrecompany.blogspot....n-wittrock.html

Tyler Neitzel as Robb Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0624900/
http://media.movieweb.com/news/04.2007/hb3_01.jpg

Barney Clark (he's older than his 'Oliver Twist' days) as Robb Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1263280/
http://www.cinecon.com/news.php?id=0509307

Max Thieriot as Robb Stark
http://www.aolcdn.com/red_galleries/max-th...t-400ds0704.jpg
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1302735/

I actually would prefer if Jon Snow -was not- handsome/dreamy in the typical Hollywood way. He needs to be an outsider in looks as well as self-perception. Therefore, a very long shot, but if he can do drama it would be a breakout role for him:
Justin Berfield as Jon Snow (would be typecast as Pyp)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0073678/

And then here's the Hollywood glam option someone suggested that I would agree with.
Gregory Smith as Jon Snow
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0808376/
http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2007/10/05/sli...-gregory-smith/

Haley Ramm as Sansa Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1391252/
http://www.haleyramm.com

Don't know if she can act... (I don't watch 'Eastenders')
Madeline Duggan as Sansa Stark
http://madelineduggan28.tripod.com/

(second Naknakkus' suggestion)
Rachel Hurd-Ward
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1248393/

Niamh Wilson for Arya Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1509081/
http://niamhwilson.net/

Chandler Canterbury for Bran Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2425105/

Dillon Freasier as Bran Stark
http://www.teenhollywood.com/gallery/7592/...n-freasier.html

Jake Church as Bran Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2106231/

Ty Simpkins as Prince Tommen Baratheon or Rickon Stark

I was going to suggest this guy for Jon, being as he was playing a teenager from 1999 to 2004. But it turns out he's actually a very young looking 41 years old now, so give him a beard and make him Ned (or maybe Benjen):

Keith Warwick

Scottish, unnattached to anything TV actor. Realistically good choice.

I would like to add to the list for consideration for Jon or Theon

http://www.averyclark.com/

and for Arya or Sansa (depending on aging of the characters),

http://geocities.com/elizabethannokey/
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1060764/

although she is a grown woman, with the right costuming and make-up she is small enough to pull off even as young as 12 or 13

@Ammena Piper:

I think you gave great suggestions and I'll second several of your votes:

Kelly Macdonald as Catelyn Tully Stark

Barney Clark as Robb Stark

Rachel Hurd-Ward as Sansa

Jim Cavaziel as Eddard Stark

Matthew Macfadyen as Eddard Stark
Another photo

I'll add a suggestion:
Anthony Howell as Eddard Stark
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0397928/
I think he has both acting ability and the closest physical resemblance; mid-30's, tall, dark hair, gray eyes, long face, nose and not too handsome in as you say, "the typical Hollywood way". And a major plus, his imdb says he rides horses too.
I would think that Dakota Fanning would make a good Sansa, and it would be just the type of part she would be looking at now to advance her career.
This is a very interesting casting idea. If they could get her, it would generate HUGE buzz for the project. And (crossing fingers) heavily lean HBO execs to pickup the series. Also I think the role would have the potential to toss her into more serious categories rather than cute preteen. She could start being cast as Leading Lady rather than Supporting Child Character.

After seeing this recent picture of her, I actually think she should go for Dany...

http://www.celebitchy.com/wp-content/uploa...wenn2126445.jpg

She's at the right age in real life. Always has a mature acting quality to her. And she's a star. She needs a next bigtime breakout role to make the world see her artistry. A role like Sansa or Dany would shock and awe everyone's expectation of her abilities.

Cons: She's a feature film star. She's expensive. She's a star. Expensive. But then hey, Anna Paquin is an Academy Award Winner and she's on HBO...

How about Harry Lloyd for Jon Snow or Rodd Stark, he's a british tv actor, whom I think looks the part and has got the talent.

Although after seeing him on Dr. Who and The Devil's Whore, I think he could be a very good Ramsay Bolton as well

Tossing him into the ring...

Johnny Galecki as Jon Snow
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0301959/

Pro: Not Hollywood Glam. Emotional vulnerability. Good actor. Looks like he should be stomping in frozen tundra. Looks like a darkhorse bastard.

Con: He's already in a hit series... :(

Seconding, thirding, fourthing, whatevering Sean Bean for Ned.

I like the idea of Gillian Anderson for Catelyn.

Freddie Highmore would've made a great Bran, but I think he's about 15 now.

I realize this is a bit vain on my part but I'd like to throw my name in the hat for Jon Snow. I have been doing quite a bit of film work in the past few years and am slowly making a name for myself in the industry. Please search my name on IMDB. Thanks!
