Ran
Rules for this topic: 1) No discussion! This is a thread to post your suggestion(s) for actors to play the roles of various characters who do not fit into other groups. This would include the likes of Sandor Clegane (who's at court, but not really part of it), his brother Gregor, and doubtless a number of others that I can't think of at the the moment. Discussion can be had in non-sticky threads. 2) Keep it brief. Provide an IMDB link, official webpage link, a brief explanation for why you'd think they'd be a good in a role, that sort of thing, but don't go overboard! 3) Keep in mind that we're interested in serious casting suggestions. $20 million a film stars will not be in the TV series as regulars. Think television actors NOT already involved as a lead in currently on-going series, Hollywood actors who've made forays into TV before and might do it again, and so on. Eventually, we may run polls to figure out the "cream of the crop" and write nice, shiny official forum reports concerning these actors. But the main thing is, keep the ideas coming. Maester Joergensen
Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell.
freakinmayhew
For the Cleganes: Kevin Durand as Sandor. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0243806/ He's got the size and the intensity. Nathan Jones as Gregor. Ran
I recall stumbling across this fellow's webpage once, because he actually plugged himself for Gregor Clegane: Conan Stevens. Here is his pitch. Kinda convincing, I admit.
Maester Joergensen
Kathryn Hahn as Lysa Tully.

Thinking Renly but he'd be too old. Just get the cast of Rome and it'll all work out
Lady Blackfish
James Purefoy perhaps for Oberyn Martell? Don't remember Oberyn's physique but the complexion seems workable depending on which ethnic group the Martells are supposed to be from. And Oberyn's got plenty of attitude. Ouroboros
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Jones_...graphy_as_actor Nathan Jones for Gregor Clegane all the way. He's a monster in size, has a criminal history, his life alone speaks for itself. He's perfect for the role, can bring some reality to it. Peter O'Toole for Walder Frey, O'Toole still does television, usually miniseries' though. He was last in the Tudors as the pope.
Lady Blackfish
I'm going to counter that one and suggest O'Toole for Maester Aemon. He just has that nobility and wisdom, if he's affordable I can't think of many more suited.
admiral_atheist
Sorry if this is going to be a little long list. Ben Whishaw for Theon Greyjoy http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0924210/ From Perfume. Melanie Lynsken for Lysa Arryn http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001491/ Gabriel Byrne for Brynden Tully http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000321/ Big name, but doing In Treatment at HBO right now. Brian Turk for Hodor http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0877134/ From Carnivále. Jsu Garcia for Bronn http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006987/ Michael Wincott for Sandor Clegane http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000699/ I know, he’s not that big (as for height), but because of his face and mostly his voice (and of course his amazing talent to play memorable villains) he would be great for The Hound. Marek Vasut for Gregor Clegane http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0890874/ I saw him in Children of Dune, and he was… huge. Gabriel Mann for Loras Tyrell http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0542759/ Alison Lohman for Margaery Tyrell http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0517844/ Richard O’Brien for Syrio Forel http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0639782/ And some from the later books: Rufus Sewell for Oberyn Martell http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001722/ Zoe Bell for Brienne http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1057928/ William Sanderson for Qyburn http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0761836/ Iain Glen for Davos http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0322513/ Callum Keith Rennie or Garret Dillahunt for Jaquen H’ghar http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0719678/ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0226813/ Rennie is a really distrubing (kind of a) villain on BSG, and HBO-veteran Dillahunt is a true chameleon of an actor, he can play just about anything. And I just want him to be in the series.
Rinso
Sean Bean for Bronn. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000293/ I know that he was in huge movies like Lord of the Rings and Troy, but I am sure that he is not a huge name that wants tens of millions of dollars and he still does many small-time movies and appears on TV shows. King Nobody
He might be a little old but Mickey Rourke as Sandor Clegane http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000620/ I've never really like wrestlers in acting roles, although for Gregor Clegane i think it might be a perfect choice, seeing as though don't have to do much acting, just yell a lot. Parris
I like this guy. I don't know any of the films he made, but he seems to be smart and has a great sense of humour. He's certainly big and strong and has credits for all sort of fighting and whoop-ass battles scenes.
