Official Casting: Everyone Else

I always thought Adam Baldwin would make a good Sandor. A little old for what Sandor's supposed to be, but not too old, and about the right height (6'4"). Primarily it's his voice as Jayne on Firefly that sells me on him. (http://www.fireflywiki.org/img/Jayne23.jpg) Not the best picture, but the best I could find.

Although he would probably be way out of the show's budget, I think Colin Farrell just has the perfect irreverence to play Bronn. And he always looks greasy, and Bronn is always greasy, so really it's like he was made for the role. (http://media.entertainment.sky.com/image/unscaled/2008/4/21/Colin-Farrell-0408.jpg)

And whenever I read anything with Littlefinger, I always imagined Kevin Pollak. He's probably too old to play the role, be he knows how to look devious, and he's got that look like he knows that he knows more than you, which is important to the role of Baelish. And since I apparently don't know the first thing about links, I won't try to add them this time. That's okay, because others in this thread have put up links for Michael Rooker, who I think would be great as Randyll Tarly.

I also think Michael Chiklis of the Shield would be pretty good, if he can pull off an accent. He's got that violent vibe down that I associate with Randyll.
Jackson Rathbone as Loras Tyrell

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3791756544/nm1717152
That guy's perfect - young and pretty. If he can act, I'm sold.

I second Rooker for Thorne as well - he's got the grating presence and stern face I imagined.

Roose always reminded me of a snake or worm - pale and slick. John Malcovich (way out of budget) always struck me as a good Roose because of the thin voice and reedy, unhealthful look.
An alternate Roose (also probably out of budget) would be Tobin Bell (though I like him more for Ilyn).

For Loras Tyrell, I always picture Justin Gaston. He definitely has the look and the bod. No pics on imdb but there are plenty here:

Justin Gaston

If he couldn't get the Loras gig, Justin is more than qualified to play Marillion the Bard. In addition to being a model (mostly for underwear), he's also an aspiring singer -- check out his YouTube video of a song he wrote himself:

Justin Gaston singing

I can't decide if I'd rather see him fighting Brienne in the melee or singing "The Bear and the Maiden Fair." Well, I know what I'd really like to see him doing, but unless Loras gets the POV chapters in ADWD and has some Renly flashbacks, I don't think I'll get my wish.

Yeah, good call. It can still be Guy Wincott though since it really doesn't matter if they change the age of Bronn. Though I don't think they really say in the book.

But yes, he isn't a bad choice.

Yes, Malkovich is perfect. My first choice. I would love it if (in the future when this hopefully happens) Malkovich and Cillian Murphy doing scenes together as a couple of great creepers.

That Rathbone kid looks like he would be an excellent Loras.

George R. R. Martin I believe envisioned Ron Perlman as Sandor. As for me though, I always had an image in my head of Tom Berenger in Platoon, disfigured and constantly gives off a threatening vibe. Wouldn't he be too old though? I imagine so because Gregor Clegane (totally should go to The Big Show from the WWF or whatever it's called now) would have to be so much older if Berenger played Sandor.

J.K. Simmons is the type of actor I'd like to see in this show. He's got range, gravitas, can ham it up if necessary, and most importantly isn't some hollywood star that would demand a huge salary. Plus he can actually pull off a decent beard, which I did not know about him. Props for that J.K.

I'm not sure if he's too busy on The Closer to take a large role on, but if he is not then it could work out. I think he could be slotted in to several roles, depending on what's available...perhaps someone like Tywin, or even Stannis. I'm not sure if he's "bear" enough for the Old Bear or Jorah, but either of those roles could fit.

Another actor who could be usable is Jonathan Pryce. His last best known part was playing Keira Knighley's father in Pirates of the Caribbean.

I always saw him as the Reader, but obviously that doesn't need casting anytime soon. However, he's the type of actor that can be slotted in to any role that needs some dignity. He could work as Maester Luwin or such.

This is the "I'm not typecasting" edition:

For Lysa Arryn Katharine Isabelle. You know, that girl who played Ginger, who snaps. (as an aside, she bears a strong resemblence to Jennifer Ferrin, who I suggested for Catelyn in the Stark threads)

and since they need the work with Harry Potter being on haitus and did a little picture together about medieval warfare a few years back:

For Rickard Karstark Brendan Gleeson
and Thoros of Myr David Thewlis
the morally bankrupt priest has already been mentioned, but I concur--he'd be an excellent Littlefinger. He can goad Ned Stark after he's done with Nixon.

and even though she won't be needed for a season or two, Maite Perroni for Lady Merryweather. Why? Because she is to Mexico what Elisha Cuthbert is to Canada. Mind-blowing hotness. She'd also be great as Arianne, or Shae. I don't even care if she can speak English (it might even help when it comes to signing that nudity clause  )

Wait, what board is this... I fear I may have veered slightly off-topic...

Pryce would make an excellent Qyburn or The Tickler (though this is too small a role). He could also play Doran Martell if he gets a tan; he is cunning and yet old an feeble.

JK has a very unique look. It would be tough to cast him I think, unless he played a Frey like Walder Rivers or Black Walder. He could pull off Kevan Lannister pretty good actually.

How about a bit of a rogue's gallery?

Billy Drago as Ilyn Payne. Or any morbid and creepifying character of your choice.

Jason Carter has a face for seaweed. Add rather more beard and you have yourself an Aeron Damphair.

Mads Mikkelsen for Jaqen H'ghar.
Angus MacFadyan

as The Blackfish or Davos?
I could see him as Davos for sure.
